EZ 103 FORMAT FLIP???

EZ 103 is obviously doing a format change . . . lots of "construction" noise playing over & over again . . .
any thoughts about what the new format will be?

WHAT THE ?#%@*! You get the best ratings in the history of the frequency and what do you do....change??? Only in NEPA.

KF

Don't you get it? A high paid consultant jumped on the fact that people in NEPA MUST like the sounds of construction/destruction since it's happening all around them. "Research shows construction sounds are more familiar to people in NEPA than the sounds of birds singing." Right outside the FEZ studios 81 is being torn up as we speak. It'll be a hit!

Damn.....why didn't I think of it........Soon other regional stations are soon to flip to this hot new format!!! All construction all the time (how about a Spanish construction format too).

I got it.....the Jack version of all construction....construction sounds; automation equipment, but no actual people doing construction!!

You could do that, but you wouldn't be able to program the spanish version in Hazleton! The Mayor would be after you.

Wait!....Here it comes!

Country Construction-more farm construction oriented-tractors and the like
Hot Country Construction-Like above with sounds of monster trucks thrown in
AC Construction-More homey sounding. Like they're working on your kitchen while you work
AAA Construction-No Power Tools! Hand saws and hammers only.
Rock Construction-Heavy sounds, lots of banging, hard, heavy sounds.
Classic Rock Construction-Like Rock except use older sounding equipment. Rust noises.

Not if they do it legally. ;)

WILK is moving to the FM dial. Now you can hear Kevin and Nancy in sterophonic sound. Just this morning I heard EZ 103.1 touting how good it sounds in crystal-clear HD! I wonder if they'll keep the HD version going??

We'll now I have two choices for talk in the morning EZ103 and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation radio carrier (what is it 1560 AM???).. come to think about it, the Transportation signal is commercial free, unbiased, and more informative than Kevin.. guess there only once choice for talk!

I don't get it. Everytime I find a station I like at work, they go and have to change it. I thought EZ 103 had made some improvements and was doing better. I know people who have changed to EZ from Magic. 103 is never going to be a ratings winner, NEVER NEVER NEVER. It's coverage area is just too limited. Do the best you can with what you got. What can they possible change to that it has not been already and is not already in the area? The only things I can think of are smooth jazz, or some JACK format. Maybe all Polka :p

::)My guess is some form of top 40 urban or a jack(adult hits) kind of format.

Just found in the FCC database....Entercon S-WB has filed for a new call sign for one of its stations in NEPA.....the new call sign is "WILK-FM". This makes it near a lock that 103.1 will be WILK.

KF

it's a lock WILK is broadcasting on the FM.. I was told that personally today.. they called me with a promotion giveaway and apologized for the EZ format change and explained the AM would be simulcast

Corbett shouldn't even be allowed to LISTEN to the radio much less be ON the radio. I like Sue Henry and I suppose she's pulled down some respectable numbers in the past though I've never really checked the book, but Corbett on her show makes it near-unlistenable. And might just be me but it sounds like Sue feels the same way.

Best of luck to WILK-FM. You want to remedy one easy problem, thank Corbett for all he's done and cut him loose fast.

Now WILK is on 4 separate frequencies. Is anyone listening to one. I don't understand it. The whole 103.1 coverage area is encompassed by one of their AM signals. What's the point. They probably lost more EZ 103 listeners then they gained WILK listeners by doing this. They would have been better off leaving EZ 103 on the air. At least it was something different.

What really sucks is where I work, I can't get [EDIT] (I don't know if it's the concrete or something about working dowtown W-B). Basically I get KRZ and Magic (which I can't stand), and EZ 103 and the Mountain real well. Sometimes, on a perfect day with no clouds, wind, no cars are going by and the sun is exactly 100 degrees above the horizon (ok just kidding), I can get Rock 107 and QFM. So I basically went back and forth between EZ 103 and the Mountain (for whatever reason I can't listen to the Mountain everyday, it's a good station but if I listen too much it starts to annoy me). Well, can't listen to EZ anymore. Time to get out the CD's I guess, or maybe internet radio.

On other note: I'll be glad if they cut Steve Corbett from the Mountain. I don't know how he is on talk radio but he is awful on the Mountain. First, he talks to much, which I thought was impossible on the Mountain. And he talks about nonsense. His delivery style just does not go well on the Mountain.
