EZ Automation software..

Complete "turnkeys" package only $3450.00!

From what I see on the website, this is about $3400 more than what this software is worth. In looking at the compare page, it lists a comparison against BSI prices from 1999. That was over 10 years ago.

This is my personal opinion but I wouldn't purchase this software.

Our station has been using EZ Automation for about 6 years now. It is simple to use, but when there is a problem or question, there is not support. We are in need of a new system now and searching for a little more sophistication. They actually install the system on a computer and sell it to you. The support telephone number is the guy's cell phone and he has never followed through with his word.

Put Rivendell on your list. Paravel can do a turn-key system for you or if you are comfortable playing with Linux, you can download and install it yourself. However, because it is not Windows, the install is not necessarily going to be smooth or as easy as double-click and go. The free community support is darned good. I've tinkered with it a lot and will probably implement it with our next station.

If your looking for the cheap but reilable route I would recomend a Rivendell system, I have not used it myself but hear a lot of good things...

If you want a really stable system and great supprot and are willing to pay for it... You can't go wrong with RCS's Nexgen system.

I've heard Rivendell is suppose to be very good, although I don't have any hands-on with it personally. I have one freelance client who says it's great but he is very well versed in I.T. and handles the majority of his computers and networking himself.

For low-budget systems I would look at StationPlaylist, medium budget would be Nexgen, and high end ... I'm not really sure anymore. I know stations who have Enco but lately I've heard many folks voice displeasure with it - I don't know if that stems from issues with the system or with the support team.

We have EZ on 2 stations. Rock solid, ED at EZ is wonderful!
