F-Bomb dropped on Fly 92.9

Listening to Fly 92.9 as of 10:14 AM...They're currently playing the VERY uncensored version of Maroon 5's "Makes Me Wonder" with the F-Bomb intact. The line goes..."It really makes me wonder if I give a F--- about you"...It is dropped about 3 times in the song. I was shocked to hear the F-Bomb unbleeped or blanked out(As i've heard it on other radio stations).

I wish I had taped it, but YES, it did happen. Yes.com would probably just say that they played the tune, not which version. I'm willing to bet whomever is in charge of putting the music into the computer probably selected the unedited track off of the CD instead of the edited version...I remember seeing CD singles in the Z-93 studios back in 2003 that had both the edited and unedited versions on them.

I have heard that some music and program directors actually take time to listen to songs--all the way through, not just to get the intro times and the fade--before downloading them into their audio vault.

Remember thirty some odd years ago when record companies sent radio stations promo copies of edited versions of such songs as:

"Fight The Power"-The Isley Bros.
"Jet Airliner" -Steve Miller Band
"Who Are You?-The Who

and in more recent years for sake of example:

"Cowboy"-Kid Rock

........so what have we learned Charlie Brown...er...Mainline???

I especially liked in Jet Airliner that they replaced "funky s**t goin' down in the city" to "funky KICKS"

In Who Are You it was a little tough to get around the line "who the f**k are you"

It wasn't that tough. A razor blade and splicing tape was all you needed.

Heck...I remember when they dropped the whole verses in "Brown-eyed Girl" and "Cecilia" which referenced making love!

And let's not forget when copies of Spinners - One Of A Kind (Love Affair) were sent out with the line "Makes You Want To Love Her, You Just Got To F--- Her Yeah" were sent out to radio. That one played ad naseum on 55KRC back in the day.

WOWO in Ft Wayne took the blade to Paul Simon's "Kodachrome". Guess the word "Crap" in the early 70's was over the line. ??? I worked at a station that banned Donna Summer's "Bad Girls" because on content. Guess if you don't sing about hookers, they don't exsist. ;D
