Position Description

Position Title: Part-Time Anchor/Program Host
Department: AM Radio
Reports To: Program Director/News Director
Classification: Part Time, Non-Exempt
Date: April, 2007

Position Summary
Anchor/Program Host is a part-time position which maintains on-air operations on weekends and during periods when the programming calls for recorded or live network programs involving local content (i.e. station breaks, news & weather casts).


Responsibilities Include
1. Responsible for preparing and announcing of weather
forecasts, stock updates, news stories and other announcements.

2. Responsible for carrying out all functions designated on the program log, including recording of programs
for future play on-air, airing underwriting spots,
promos, EAS tests, etc.

3. Maintain program continuity during weekends
and non-drive time periods. Duties involve the accurate
editing and playing of pre-recorded programming, live
network programming and covering program breaks
on the air.

4. Anchor/Program Hosts are also active members of the WNED News Department, working as general assignment reporter as needed.


Qualifications and Education Required

 One year of on-air broadcast experience.
 Strong on-air delivery and radio board operator skills.
 College degree preferred.
 News writing and gathering experience.
 
If there were enough General Assignment Reporter duties it would be easy to see this as a full-time position.
