Facebook in the process to launch an Amazon Prime type outlet

https://www.cordcuttersnews.com/facebook-is-launching-an-amazon-channels-style-subscription-service/

For over a year, we have heard that Facebook was working on an Amazon Channels style subscription service. Today, Facebook made it official as they start testing a subscription service to allow you to manage subscriptions to services like BritBox, MotorTrend OnDemand, and Collegehumor, to name a few.

“We’re testing video subscriptions on Facebook, starting with a limited set of partners,” Facebook said in a statement. “We’re excited to bring more of people’s favorite shows and videos to Facebook, where subscribers can enjoy the content together with other fans. We’ll be listening to feedback from our community.”

Just like with Amazon channels, the benefit here is being able to manage multiple subscriptions in a single place. No longer do you need multiple apps. You will be able to subscribe to all of them through Facebook.

Yes this is Facebook competing against other outlets for viewers.
