Erie-
I did want to thank you for your careful reading of my initial post. You will have to forgive the fact that I had just gotten off the air, after a long night with my friend Jack Daniels. Your grammar corrections are noted and accepted.
I am planning to monitor the UV market. I am interested to hear how the Z sounds these days. It can only have gotten better without John and Judy on the air...that having been said, having Ed and Judy in a background format like JJR may end up being mildly tolerable. If you have read my previous posts of the market, you know that my analysis is not a personal attack toward any person, although I have found that it is taken that way by folks who don't know how to take objectivity. You are correct in feeling as though I have often little positive to say about the market, but I think deep down inside, you know that there are some serious issues with the talent and sound of a lot of stations there. If you have read my other posts as carefully as my one of this morning, you will note the positives and diamonds in the rough that I hear.
It always delights me, dear readers, to lend an ear to what my old stomping grounds are doing. It does, however, sadden me that at times, it sounds not quite as good as it should or could. I am not sure, however, if a "rant" would be an accurate representation of my postings. Only a bit of free consultation. You can roll your eyes, and make rude statements about this unsolicited look at the market, but I guess, out of a love of this business, I like to lend another opinion. As always, I invite folks to do the same, as they travel through the South East. After all, it is only through the sharing of ideas, are we going to get better as an industry. It is through this sharing of ideas that we can all learn, and get fresh new ideas.
Anyway, as I sit here at the airport waiting to board the plane to the motherland, I am a nervous twitter with excitement about listening...or maybe it is the fact that I HATE to fly.
Nuff Said.
