Faith Daniels PD at WROU

Not sure exactly when this happened but I noticed that Garth Adams was no longer listed on the WROU website and the music was sounding a bit different. I hear a lot of unfamiliar R&B now and A LOT more of the old school. One thing though is the processing is fixed. But we'll see what happens when the next book comes out. More variety = better results? I noticed a lot of the crossover R&B isn't really heard anymore.

Faith Daniels was recently on Midday's on Mojo 100.3. Perhaps they are shifting to Old School R&B like Radio One is doing in Philly and St Louis. 100.3 should have went Old School instead of sports but that's for a different thread.

I think every air personality that has tenure at Main Line/Dayton is just about gone, with the exception of Danielle on Fly, who has been there for almost 5 years, and Rob "Partyman" Taylor has been at Hot for close to 10 I believe. You can count the air staff at 717 E. David Rd. on one hand. Sad. :'(

It is sad especially given Dayton's long history with 107.7 WDAO being one of the first FM urban formatted station in the country which WROU should be a modern sounding version of.

92.1 WAS a great station under Ronita Hawes-Saunders until Radio One ran the poor woman into bankruptcy so they could swoop in and get the stations at a reduced rate and put Hot 102.9 on the air, which started the slow demise of not only U-92 but also sister station Z-93 since Hot is/was a very similar format. So, in essence, Hot 102.9 killed off three great stations-102.9 WING-FM, U-92, and Z-93. :'(

If I remember correctly Ronita's bankruptcy had more to do with her purchase of WRNB in Troy at 96.9 than Radio One pushing anything. I think she may have been under capitalized for the venture and the station's small rimshot signal made it a hard sell. She had WROU cookin' with good on air talent and a solid format that was right for the time and the market. Ronita is a very smart radio broadcaster and as I recall rather pleasant in person. I can't claim to have known her well, just my impression from a few meetings.
