WLNG has long run spots from local churches; it's never been clear to me if these are paid for or offered free (or at a discount) to any local congregation that wants one, in the spirit of community service. Most are of the "come worship with us this week" variety. Which is perfectly fine.
But this week they're running spots voiced by a "Pastor Gail Brown", shouting at the top of her lungs about her new church (operated out of the Best Western or somesuch) where she promises to "heal the infirm". This seems a bit over-the-line and snake-oil-salesman-ish to me, not to mention a promise she may not be able to keep (she says she'll heal "all who enter"). Sounded a bit out-of-place and unseemly on 'LNGs airwaves. Is this more common in the radio biz than I realize?
