Well, the numbers are embargoed again.....we at WMTT are a subscriber so I thought I'd make note of a few numbers. Hopefully I won't run afoul of the board editor. 12 Plus; WNKI is first and WMTT and WLVY are tied for second; all three are up more than half a point. WMTT is first 25-54 adults again (I think this is 9 or 10 times in a row, first or tied for first 25 to 54). These numbers are for both Chemung and Steuben Counties. Frankly, WNKI, WMTT, and WLVY are all pretty good stations, they would likely hold there own if put in a bigger market such as Binghamton. Hats off to WLVY, this is their best showing in years, pretty good for a not full power Class A FM. There's no doubt that WMTT has been helped by its new presence in Bath and Hornell via FM translators.
Elmira/Corning is interesting in that the top four stations all have significant FM translator presence (even 50, 000 watt WNKI has a downtown Elmira translator). Elmira-Corning is quite mountainous (esp. going west), without translators many people would get little radio service. This is much like the western US, (AZ, NV, CA, CO, UT) where I 've spent considerable time the past 3 years building stations.
