Fall 2012: New Talk Blocks - Sharing Is Caring - Local News @ 7pm!

NBC 4 is banking on star power this fall to rise them from near worst to first in daytime. Survivor's Jeff Probst replaces Gloria Allred's faux court show "We The People" @ 2pm. Probst is followed by the new Steve Harvey Show @ 3pm. Both new shows are expected to be issues-oriented which should make for an interesting lead-in to Ellen, who stays @ 4pm

Over at the Fox duopoly, Anderson Cooper Live will have one of its runs on MY13 @ 10am. The new Riki Lake Show follows Anderson @ 11am, with Jeremy Kyle staying on @ Noon for his second season. After the I Love Lucy break @1pm, MY13 holds court @ 2pm with Judge Alex, and Divorce Court.

If Fox 11, KTLA, and KCAL 9 have made any changes for fall (and all sings point to yes), they have yet to be sent in.

The only changes for Fall confirmed by KDOC is the return of the political news show, "America Votes - 2012 Edition" @ 4:30 replacing Cash Cab, which moves to Midnight. The station will share South Park with MY13, starting 9/10. KDOC airs the animated show @12:30am, MY13 serves up the second half-hour @ 1:30am. Both stations already share (duplicate actually) runs of Seinfeld.

Finally, FOX LA is adding a new 7pm newscast to begin on MY13 9/10. This leaves 730:pm the only half-hour without local news between 4pm and 11:35pm

Don't forget the KTLA rebroadcast of the 6pm news hour at 7 on 5.2 in case you watched something else at 6:30. :)

...and the hour of news on California Nonstop from 7-8pm.

KCOP will actually have Trisha Goodard's new show at 1pm, following Jeremy Kyle; there's a promo video on the station's Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/#!/cmoremy13). The I Love Lucy block loses a hour, so it'll be just from 2-3.

I think we all know by now about the Katie Couric addition on KABC, at 3pm, which of course shifts Dr. Oz and General Hospital a hour earlier each. Outside of that, everything remains in-tact on 7's weekday schedule. The Bill Cunningham Show, which airs on KTLA at 2pm, moves to the full CW Network at 3pm (replacing Dr. Drew's Lifechangers show).

Obviously the biggest changes with daytime are on Channel 4, 11, and 13, as everyone pretty much stays where they are. I don't forsee any programming changes with the CBS duopoly, except more primetime newscasts on KCAL since they lost the Lakers.

So are Judge Alex and Divorce Court going back to Fox 11? Either that or I Love Lucy returns to its old weekday home. Any clue if Rikki Lake will also show up on both 11 and 13? I can only go by what has been sent in to Titan so far (Every year, they always wait till the last minute ::) )

Here's Fox 11's schedule, as of the same date:

3:30 Cops

As far as I Love Lucy's future after September 17th...my guess is that Fox L.A. will let the rights expire, and let Me-TV Hollywood finally have the local rights. Either that, or they'll bump Pat Robertson and friends off the sked, and put Lucy back at 9am.

Everybody Hates Chris and My Name is Earl are leaving syndication this fall so the 8am hour will be different. TBS's Are We There Yet is coming this fall but Im not sure if it will air on KCOP or KDOC. They can use Lucy as filler on the weekends or it might move into the 8am hour. I wish Married with Children was back on both stations. I know KDOC airs it but KTTV and KCOP would show it on weekends.
