Ken Barnett was #1 in women 25-54. It's a good thing Infinity, er uh CBS, dumped him when they did. You wouldn't want someone with consistent numbers like that and as much experience in this market working for your team. No sir. Got rid of him just in time. He must have been really bringing the station down as a whole. I'm sure they're really counting their blessings.

Obviously you're a huge Ken Barnett fan. Market veteran, nice guy, etc.--but if you think he had anything to do with the 25-54 numbers, either you're dreaming or you've had one too many. It's called CHRISTMAS MUSIC. Get it? It works every time. Why do you think every AC station in the country is now jumping on this craze? Ken is a decent jock, but let's be honest. He couldn't work excitement into his show if the building was on fire! And those "consistent" numbers you mention were not very consistent at all when he was competing with Sunny middays. KVIL needs change. It's the only way they will survive. Actually, they should have moved Ken to mornings at the Oasis. Vanderslice sounds like he's literally going to doze off at any moment.

The BO/BSP/KJ spin has begun. Spoken like someone who resents Barnett's success and has no prayer of ever achieving a tenth of it.

Ken Barnett continued to succeed in the post-Chapman years DESPITE the lousy, used up PD's he worked under. Next time you post, try to avoid phrases like "work excitement into his show." It's a meaningless catch phrase used by radio folk who have nothing of substance to Say.

OK, I'll reword the phrase and be more honest and not so polite. In plain words, he had NOTHING to say. There's your catch phrase. Have a nice day.

They said during the show Wednesday that he did better in one of the demographics, but at the same time did worse in one of the female demos, don't remember what age ranges the two groups were though.
Edited by DILLIGAS on 01/19/06 07:42 PM.
