Fall Book

Did I hear right, that Movin' had a less-than-stellar performance in the fall ratings?

The trends showed that coming. As bad as MOVIN" did they did impact a bunch of stations. KHHT (still the leader in the category), KJLH, and KKBT were all down.

Some would say a station ike MOVIN' needs more time. I would agree, however to have such a grim first book is not encouraging.

KEarth had a nice 12+ book.

Too early to tell.

I think this book has shown Rhythmic fatique. Anyone remotely associated with "Rhythmic" music is down or flat. Yes, this includes KBIG and KXOL.

In contrast, anyone associated with Whitebread music is up ie KRTH and KOST.

.........

Exactly.
Rick Dees promoted in a strong TV & billboard campaign WOULD have delivered better than a .7 12+. Did Emmis they do that? No. With all due respect, they badly misfired with that stick figure campaign. They should completely re-launch Dees and move away from only promoting Coca-Cola to the employees in the factory.

When are they going to finish fleshing out the rest of the station?

As I sit here in my Bathrobe and fleece slippers and hot chocolate Mrs. Dithers prepared for me I find it very easy to reason a .7 for Movin'.

THE PRODUCT AIN'T RIGHT.

Now back to my shuffle board.

LARADIO.COM teased at a "Montoya" parked at Afternoon's at Movin. Another lounge singer? Where are the recognizable names? This format screams for a Frank Lozano or Boomer. Or maybe bring Xavier "The X-Man" up from Magic 92.5 in San Diego. Lets wait and see what the suits do.

Yea just make sure they don't hire gosh a mainstream Anglo. That would be
terrible.

Now thats a moronic comment. What the hell is Rick Dees? Frank, Boomer, and Xavier are jocks that are recognized in LA. Xavier is Fillipino by the way.

Maybe it's not so much that the product is wrong, instead it could be a case of oversaturation?

I noticed that KMVN, like most rhythmic ACs, play an 80s pop song or two an hour. This adds variety but I wonder if songs like "You Spin Me Round" by Dead Or Alive fit in with the rest of the categories of music MOVIN" plays?
