WYKK (according to All Access)
No major surprises there... R&R didn't have WYKK listed but All Access had them listed with a 1.1. Are/were they still country or did K-Love take over before the book started?
I'm glad to see that the listeners didn't agree with my assessment of Q101. They lost some ground but managed to stay third in the market. However, if you look at their history, they usually pull a higher number in the spring than they do in the fall. CHR usually does better in the spring than in the fall (it's like that most everywhere).
I'm betting that SAM pulled some great numbers with men 25-54. It may have even beaten the Buzz in that demo! Would anyone say that, as far as the classic rock stuff goes, the music on both are similar?
Kiss and WMMZ is an interesting battle, mainly because Kiss is locally staffed and Blues is (I believe) on the bird. Do we think people are getting tired of the blues and want more of the usual urban ac artists? Not to mention that Kiss' jocks are actually there for people to meet and make a connection with.
R.I.P. Sly 104.9. I wish you could have gone out with a bigger bang. I'll admit it, I enjoyed listening to it. The girl that was doing afternoons when I was on nights at Q was my favorite. She'd always open her show with a song called "Candy" because, well, that was her name. She had a voice and a delivery that could make a priest question his vows.
Thoughts?
