Fall Ratings

I come not to praise 1230 but to bury it. The Fall book is out, and so is the station. WYTS is now officially nonexistent.
Could we please have a moment of silence?

Thank you.

Damn it! 107.1 Twink FM actually went up in the ratings. We've got waaaay too many rednecks in this town. Dear God, please let there be format change in the near future.

For the life of me I can't understand why nobody would want to take on the top 2 formats in this market. IMO a hybrid Rhythmic Hits with a splash of currents would do well here. We brought back Channel Z in the form of Radio 106.7, now let's bring back HOT 105.

Thank you.

Jake, let's not be too facetious. ;)

A certain radio station which came on the air December 3 isn't listed either.

But the buzz on the street and in the blogosphere indicates that radio station will appear in the first Arbitrends for winter, satellite issues notwithstanding.

since noone is listening i wonder if they would let me do a talk show on the 1230 one and take a chance on me. I couldn't hurt it right now.

Interesting to see QFM96 tied with Sunny, and both of them are knocking on the door of 610.
I'm guessing 1.3 will be CD101's high water mark for the next year.
The Brew is going flat.

So do these ratings reflect the "Christmas boost"? WLZT pulled it's highest 12+ ratings in a year (probably ever) but Sunny is up too but not as high as last year so I'm guessing it does include Christmas.

Are the Buckeyes even helping 1460? I mean they are the radio home of a team in the national championship game and they tie their lowest ratings in a year. Wishful thinking but I hope Shark is hurting the station with his show.

Sean:

The book ran until Mid-December, so you only would have had benefit of a week or two with WVKO being on the air. There's no way you could have gotten any kind of an accurate "read" on the station with so little data. January would be the first trend you should expect something...

And Jakej: I know you and I disagree on some things...but I did enjoy the humor!

I gave a couple of guys in that building a revenue generating, home run idea that would have increased the web traffic to WYTS 10 fold and guess what?... They said um, we can't make that happen. That station is on auto pilot and they just don't care about it. So I gave the idea to one of my buddies that works at another station and he implemented it. Guess what? Yep.

Did anyone notice what WNCI was listed as on this site?
Hot AC!?
It's been that way for a long time. I think Radio and Records also has it listed this way. Maybe they forgot to change it after that "wonderful" AC experiment/Sunny ripoff a decade ago. ;D

Besides the quote of the year about the nonexistence of 1230, these are tied for second and third.

Anyone There? Hello??

Thank you.

LOL! But be careful, Nationwide may come after you for trademark infringement.

What's your source for those numbers?

I don't even see WHKC listed as a choice for Columbus on the Radio Research Consortium website (http://www.rrconline.org). I don't know whether that means HKC just didn't show up in Arbitron, or that they're RRC non-subscribers.

What's your source for those numbers?

Arbitron doesn't release ratings for non-commercial stations in "the book", but if you have access to such numbers through other Arbitron software, you can look at ALL of the radio stations numbers, regardless of status.

As an example, WOSU-FM went from a 2.2 to a 1.9, and the aforementioned WHKC went from a 0.4 to a 0.2.

Whats the other non com religious FM doing? (88.7 WUFM)?

I would think those numbers for 91.5 WHKC would be good considering there is virtually no promotion for the station.

Can 0.2 ever be good? What should one expect from a station that doesn't promote itself, 0.0? And what's disappointing under those circumstances, negative 0.1?

Radio U had a 0.8 P12+ Mon-Sun 6a-Mid (up from 0.3 in Summer).

WCBE did better than WOSU-AM and WOSU-FM.

WRFD tied WYTS at 0.4.

In Maximiser, all stations are listed, regardless of the 0.05 AQH Rating threshold required for Arbitrend inclusion. I counted 104.

So, What format will work on 1230 AM?? What about all network news? They have yet to try that.
