Faltan Huevos?

Nurse Jeff and I have been compiling a scorecard on the new KFY~EYE PD:

Station Promos ...same ones Chickboss left two months ago

Nite Talker ...Scott Connor has been gone 7 months now

Smack Downs ...still no Nearly Bald One showing up

Competition - ...Toaster Talk on FM, but TMISU are smarter than the Emmis Brain Trust

Nearly Bald One - ...still making cheap shots about mgmt on air
...still making glaring errors on air without being corrected
...still obnoxious and arrogant
...still more entertaining than Pat McBland, AM or FM

Well at least the New PD hasn't screwed anything up yet!

I think the time is right for KFYI to spice things up a little bit. Their lineup is pretty blah blah boring. I think mornings need a team rather than one big blow hard from NYC. Will we always forever and ever and ever have the Rush Hannity midday combo???? What happens at night? I like TNT the best. Its time to spice it up a bit

Spice it up!

Great idea!

Simulcast that great formerly-KOY syndicated stuff on both stations during the day, and ape KNRJ on 550 at night!

The people in Yavapai and Kokonino counties (remember Krazy Kat?) will finally get to hear what KFYI sounds like, and the people in Phoenix will finally get to hear what KNRJ sounds like.

Win win.

Kokonino county? KSL-12~60? Cardinals on Sports Siberia 8~60? PHX-SLC 1,000 miles? Yavapai County makes a difference in the Phoenix MSA? FM with brains - Gaydos on KT'R-FM?

[EDIT]

[EDIT-inflammatory]

Lookie what Nurse Jeff and I saw on the LA board. Seems the sarcastic Phoenix "expert" must have one heck of an AM radio to pull in LA stations some 350 miles to the west. And during the day, too! Streaming audio, we're sure! HA ::) HA ;D HA ::) HA ;D HA ::) HA ::) HA ;D HA ::) HA ;D HA ::)

OK, at 2:38, KNX runs a tease: "Wait til you hear what happened at the Dodger game. Sports next."

So I switch down to sister KFWB. Charlie Steiner is hyperventilating about about James Loney hitting 9 RBIs, breaking an LA Dodgers record that has stood since 1950.

So I switch back to KNX. Randy Kerdoon is on a tape (or whatever), so the afternoon chatchick gives the score: 16-9 before going to the prerecorded sportcast. No mention of the record.

You would think someone at 1070 would know that something big was just broadcast on 980. Their control rooms are how many feet apart?

Earth to Akbar. Zuma Beach is in Los Angeles County.

I live here at Zuma. My name is Hans.

Get it? Zuma Hans?

That's why I said Salt Lake City is 1,000 miles away. Turns out, it's 780 miles, by the way, and I never said I was measuring from Phoenix, I said it was a thousand miles away from me.

I am in Phoenix frequently on business. Tucson too. Real estate.

Worked in both those markets. I check my old compadres on the streaming audio all the time.

If you look around, you will also see I also post on the San Diego board. Although I don't own houses there anymore (sold them last year, top of the market, thank you very much) I live in a part of LA County that gets more SD than LA radio.

I highly recommend that you check out my expertise in the Tijuana market on the AM 690 threads in San Diego. I spend a lot of time in the Tecate and Rosarito areas too. Ranch land and a friend'scondo.

I also am in the Santa Barbara/Ventura market about 30 hours a week ... just up the road from Zuma. Sailboat is parked in Port Hueneme, so I listen to a lot of SB/V radio.

It sounds like you are locked in the Phoenix market. So sad.

Hey Drakbar:

A) Have you figured out yet that I'm 780 miles from Salt Lake City, and don't listen to 1260, 1160, or any other station from Heap Big Land of Many Marriages, ever?

B) Has it dawned on you yet that someone can show up in more than one radio market, thru the miracles of driving from city to city?

C) Bet you can't pronounce "Hueneme" correctly. In fact, I'd give 50-50 odds on your fouling up on pronouncing "Pt." as well.

A) Isn't that tierra grande de matrimonios called Las Vegas? Recheck your math.

B) We're jealous 'cause there aint a Quartzsite board....yet.

C) Wa-Nee-Me. PT - a cruiser made by Dr Z.

D) Wa-Nee-Me is to Cha-Null Eye-Lands as Guadalupe is to Paradise Valley. We wouldn't brag!

KSL 12~60 & 108.2 FM

KACY Port Hueneme. The big 1520. Well, daytime anyway.
50/1, IIRC. One gallon at night to protect KOMA, among others.

Try 1520 KVTA, Ventura County's Newstalk Leader. www.kvta.com .

Kick-ass little news station.

Better signal into Western L.A. County than KFWB, particularly at night.

Drakbar: it's Why-nee-me. And Port, not Point.[EDIT]

[EDIT-personal attack.]

No, the polygamists are up in Utah and the Arizona strip.

B) We're jealous 'cause there aint a Quartzsite board....yet.
You would be the perfect moderator. And talent, yu would fit right in at beautiful music KBUX 94.3. The silverhairs at the gem and mineral swapmeets would doubtlessly find your stale Akbar and Nurse Jeff Homomotif fresh and funny. EXTRA BONYS FOR DRAKBAR: you could park your Gremlin just over the hill to listen to KTAR FM, which comes in all the way to the 10/60 split. Of course, you would have to drive an hour futher east to hear the static-y ditto-y mono drone of Ol' 55 Phoenix, Not KOY.

C) Wa-Nee-Me. PT - a cruiser made by Dr Z.
WHY-nee-me. And, as mentioned, I figured you would punt the Port part.

D) Wa-Nee-Me is to Cha-Null Eye-Lands as Guadalupe is to Paradise Valley. We wouldn't brag!
What, you can sail from Guadalupe to Paradise Valley? (1) That's the 48th Street storm drain (once known to SRP as the Old Crosscut Canal), and (2) it flows north to south.

Since my boat is homeported in the Channel Islands marina, in the City of Port Hueneme, I guess we should brag.

Where's your boat? Buckeye? Cashion? The 91st Avenue Sewage Pond?

No boat? No shi+.

Drakbar: it's Why-nee-me. And Port, not Point.[

Actually, it was POINT Hueneme until the port was dreged in 1939.

The lighthouse name was Point Hueneme lighthouse.

Good point, er, port.

But it's Port now.

Hueneme, of course, is an old chumash indian word meaning "oceanfront views at half the price of Santa Monica."
