I am retired from a major oil company and reside in Central Louisiana. Grew up with a radio playing 24/7 in our house. Still love to surf the AM band when time allows. I do have basic knowledge of analog and digital electronics. Recently purchased an AM1000 Rangemaster with plans to build a LPAM locally oriented station for our small town of about 800 population. Looking forward to learning from experienced LPAM enthusiast on this forum. Thank you for allowing me to join,

Nice to see another LPAM enthusiast!!:) The Rangemaster is a super unit...With enough height and low frequency, it has quite a "reach"!!
You might want to look at the Schlockwood SW200 LPAM audio processor.....designed by Jim Wood of Inovonics....IMHO, it rivals procs costing
LOTS more!! Good luck!
 
Welcome, I think this is the first time I've ever read of someone starting a Low Power AM station on the board. If most of the people have Internet where you live, hopefully you'll stream the station too.

Thanks for the recommendation on the SW200. I will definitely be checking it out. I think this forum will be a great resource for advice from LPAM enthusiast like yourself and others. Looking forward to being a member.
