Family Feud will have a new host (yet again)

RIchard Dawson
Ray Combs
Richard Dawson
Louie Anderson
Richard Karn
John O Hurley
Steve Harvey

not a bad list of Family Feud hosts

Does "Feud" perform pretty well in syndication ratings?

Something must be up for them to keep changing hosts. Pretty bizarre if you ask me.

This version of the show has been on for the past 11 years. Whatever they are doing they sure have a way of convincing stations that it's a good idea to keep the show on.

Not only are they syndicated but reruns are shown on the ION Network.

In my opinion, The best host was Richard Dawson. The worst host? Well in my opinion, it was Louie Anderson.

How is it bizaare? Karn didn't want to re-up when his contract expired, and O'Hurley made it clear he wants to do other things in his life. It happens.

Performance wise, it's no Jeopardy/Wheel, but it's fairly consistent as a less expensive option out in the market. Sometimes that means being relegated to the wee hours in certain markets, but when you pay a smaller amount and get something reliable, it's a decent trade off.

So is "Millionaire," but you don't see them dropping Meredith Vieira, do you?

Meredith Vieira "owns" at least part of Millionaire.......

and while we are talking about Ms Meredith....why is it that she looks so much better on Millionaire than on TODAY?????????????????????/

The only person FEUD dropped was Louie Anderson. They axed him because he sucked, even though it was under his watch they increased the prize from 10K to 20K. And it all started during HEROES week when they had Fire Fighters, Police Officers, and other First Responders on as contestant after 9-11.

I really don't know why Karn didn't renew his contract. He was my favorite host since Richard Dawson. Last I saw Karn he was hosting The Kodak All-in-One Printer infomercial. Kind of ironic because in the final episode of Home Improvement when Tim introduced Karn's character on Tool Time he introduced him as Al "Be Doing Infomercials for a Living" Borland. :D

As for O'Hurley he wants to concentrate on his "Stage Career". I really have no opinion on his hosting of Feud because I don't like the guy and stopped watching the show.

Maybe I'll check it out when Steve takes over this fall, but I can't get used to seeing Steve sporting the "bald" look. Especially since TBS is still showing reruns of his sitcom and he had a full-head of hair. Plus they just showed "Johnson Family Vacation" on FX the other day and again he still had a full-head of hair. Steve's a good actor, but I never liked his radio show. It was only on in Hartford for a few months before Clear Channel killed off the station.

Really? I thought the fact that he was involved in some lewd blackmail controversy had something to do with him leaving the show - I'm sure it was around the time of him hosting "Feud" because Opie & Anthony did a funny radio bit about it.

Remember, he'll still get those residuals from Greater Media Philadelphia as the voice of "Ben FM".

On the sitcom, he had a full head of "hair" -- look closely!

You're forgetting DONNY OSMOND

Cheers & 73 to all the Hams amongst us :D

FAMILY FEUD NEEDS A NEW HOST! ... Someone that we remember from days gone by. I suggest a duo host team of Jimmie Walker and Gary Coleman... That would be DynOmite! josh

The syndicated version of Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? has surpassed Feud in the ratings, and now it resides with Deal or No Deal, which may be a little higher. But, it has managed to perform better and outlast shows like Merv Griffin's Crosswords and Trivial Pursuit: America Plays over the past couple years, despite declining ratings.
