Family Guy questions

... on this past Monday's 11pm episode on Adult Swim... I had the close captioning on, the words that were audibly-bleeped out were actually displayed uncensored on-screen (a couple of "f-words" for instance). I'm not making a big deal of it, but I just found it pretty amusing.

It is possible they will release the "unbleeped" versions in an "uncut" "Family Guy" DVD in the near future.

This program's use of expletives for the sake of being "adult" is unnecessary and the audio censorship doesn't make it funnier. They only remind me how mean-spirited the program and folks in our world can be. The words may not surprise many viewers, but viewers deserve something better. There is no need to rely on expletives, as the show is better without them.

If that's the case, "South Park" would be a shell of itself without the profanity, edited or otherwise.

Seth MacFarlane caught heat for the episode that air the Sunday prior to the 2008 Presidential Election. Two of the characters were back in WWII Berlin and ran into a Nazi, who was wearing a McCain-Palin pin on his uniform. As a previous poster mentioned, there have been multiple episodes about gay marriage and the legalization of marijuana.

While its obvious that Seth MacFarlane is to the left on the political spectrum, FG takes it turns poking fun at everyone, including those on the left.

With that being said I am very surprised that show Seth did making fun of so-called "ex-gays" didn't result in a lawsuit being filed by Exodus International. After all it seems whenever somebody makes a joke about the idea of ex-gays, Exodus gets their lawyers in motion and files lawsuits whether its the movies such as with "Bearcub" and "But I Am A Cheerleader", LOGO's cartoon show "Rick & Steve" or some jock on a local 3000 watt FM radio station somplace. I believe Exodus once filed a lawsuit against comedian Margaret Cho when she pokeed fun of Exodus during a concert. Of course usually these lawsuits would get dropped after all there is this thing such as "free speech" but it still doesn't stop the Exodus people to make that call to their lawyers. Oddly to date The Simpsons hasn't touched this subject..but the Family Guy did and nothing happened. Kinda surprised.
