"Family Guy", "The Cleveland Show" Renewed

This is getting ridiculous. The Cleveland Show doesn't deserve one full season let alone four in my opinion. I think they are overcompensating at this point.

The Cleveland Show is much better than Family Guy - the writing is not so lazy. These days it's like Family Guy is an afterthought to them.

Im glad both shows got renewed. I like both of them, and I do agree "Cleveland" is geting better. But "American Dad" has lost it these days though.

@Mainedude: Actually, I think this will be the first time the two-hour animation block will be fully maintained with regular programming. You may recall Fox trying to mix in live-action programming after "King Of The Hill" was canceled. "Sons Of Tucson," anyone? "Bob's Burgers," I don't know, the concept probably doesn't appeal to me now as it would about, say, ten years ago. "Cleveland Show" is visible, at the very least, to "Family Guy" fans like myself, and liked the debut season. Hasn't done much for me since. In fact, I think I lost touch with it after an episode that made a toilet joke out of Louisiana...

Now "Bob's Burgers" is definitely one show that I would love to see cancelled. The animation of that show looks like that of a fifth grader and I've seen fifth graders draw much better than what I see on that show. The humor is tasteless, crude and totally unfunny and "Family Guy" and "Cleveland Show" are a lot tamer in their language than "Bob's Burgers" will ever be. I would even bet that Seth McFarlane shakes his head and hangs it in shame at whoever draws this show or writes it. Who wants to see someone in a rabbit suit or a Velma lookalike or tasteless transgender jokes or looking at the end credits watching Bob pee in a urinal?

I think next season is the third season of Cleveland Show.

Yup, this announcement is actually confusing.

Both series had already been renewed by Fox a while ago for next season, what this announcement does is renew them through the 2012-2013 season, which would be the 4th season for Cleveland Show.

I'm guessing the shows are being sold as a package. So as long as they want to renew Family Guy, they have to take The Cleveland Show. I'd almost be willing to bet that they will be cancelled or renewed at the same time for the same lengths.

Can't be any worse than the "Squiggle-vision" of "Dr. Katz" and "Home Movies," can it?

Ugh. I despise that style of animation greatly. At least Home Movies eventually moved away from that later on. The way the characters and their clothes are drawn still bothers me though.

That's more likely the case. Or going back to my earlier comment, I think Fox is still compensating for the fact that they or rather earlier executives at Fox cancel Family Guy way too early.

Just give Quagmire from Family Guy and Roger from American Dad their own shows. They gave a show to Cleveland from Family Guy so why not those two. Anything that will get Bob's Burgers quickly and quietly off the air.

I would like to see a complete Seth McFarlane Animation Domination Sunday anyways once The Simpsons are either cancelled or have run out of things to talk about or cover whichever comes first thus the reason why I think that either a Quagmire and/or Roger show or both might work out.

reading between the lines on this thread....is there a Simpsons Death Pool? ???

"Simpsons" jumped the shark for me right after they had NSYNC as their celebrity guest of the week.

Honestly, I could see them getting to season 25, and ending it, regardless of ratings.

People say the content has gone downhill, but really, it's evolved into a different show entirely. I watch the first few seasons, and what was edgy then, simply is a non-starter now. The show started off focusing on Bart, and has since shifted focus to Homer. In 1989 you just didn't have shows where kids disrespected their parents, and misbehaved in school, now there are dozens and it seems very commonplace.

You also didn't have shows like South Park, Family Guy, etc. Even Married with Children would be seen as pretty tame these days.

Likewise, one could argue that "Married with Children" started to focus on one of their characters (i.e. Kelly) and her wisdom, or lack thereof (see also: Homer Simpson) as the show progressed.

I don't know about you all but American Dad seems to be getting meaner. They burned Francine's face off? How horrible to do that to my favorite character.
