Even if he has somewhere in the distant past, he hasn't hosted one in the last decade or so. You'd think some major market experience would be a requirement, but I guess Richie is proof that the Fan doesn't have such requirements.
And does likeable translate to listenable? As discussed when Dunham and Miller did "Blender talk", it's not that blender talk is interesting, but they MADE it interesting. Can Josh take a ho-hum subject (mid season mavs or stars loss) and make it interesting?
Josh's pop culture references were interesting as a side dish during Rangers games, will they hold the same interest when he's also the main course? Especially when there's 2 other "games" (Hitzges and B&S) competing with him at that timeslot? Baseball fans weren't likely to tune away from teh Rangers game because he's doing a pop culture segment- sports radio listeners very well might...
And for the chargers job- pretty much a weekend job- odds are the only conflict will be the very occasional Thursday or Monday night game...
