Fan of the CHR Stations on Sirius XM?

Im not really a fan of it. I feel before they merged Sirius Hits 1 and XM 20 on 20 sounded good. Now they don't sound so good. They should have left Sirius Hits 1 and dropped XM 20 on 20.

Also what station is formated as a CHR/Rhythmic? I thought it was Channel 68 The Heat but according to the XM website they call it R&B Hits.

I haven't had XM in about a year but I "The Heat" was a CHR/Rhythmic at least at one point.. I remember vividly them playing "Wake Up Call" by Maroon 5, "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie, and anything Britney Spears / Lady Gaga released. Never cared that much for 20 on 20 after they changed their countdown format or the Hit List.

Back when my unit was stolen out of my car (Fall 2009) KISS 21 was the best CHR in the "XM Nation" IMHO

Hits 1/20 on 20 SUCKS. 20 on 20 years ago was much better when it was on XM. It was also the most listened to station... now I barely tune it in.

As far as The Heat, I remember its rhythmic days. Sucks they flipped to more of a Mainstream Urban format. They'll jump on some rhythmic tracks, but nothing even remotely close to Maroon 5 or Fergie now.

Like Ken says, KISS XM is the best CHR station on XM. It's a rhythmic-leaning CHR.

That was awhile ago for Maroon 5 and Fergie.

And lovejamminoldies, I didn't say KISS XM is the best CHR on XM that was Gasping4Airtime that said that. But while talking about KISS XM doesn't that station play commericals?

Hits 1 is practically a Hot AC station

The Heat is like a watered down Mainstream Urban. Way too much R&B (with some pop mixed in and the only hip hop they play are the songs with singing in the chorus.

Sorry for the mistake Ken. Yes, KISS runs 2 60 sec commercial breaks an hr, sometimes only 30 sec or 1 break at night/overnight. I don't mind them... I'll wait 60 sec to hear more hit music than to hear flops on Hits 1... and J. Rob is correct about both stations...

Hits 1 is afraid to play anything rhythmic. Listen to them, they don't touch the hot rhythmic that actually is doing well on the charts, if it starts to peak, they'll add it at the last minute.

The Heat has gotten more aggressive, but they do specialize in "Hot R&B". I hear them play Waka, Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, Nicki, but they don't play the harder hip-hop that appears on the Urban charts because of Hip-Hop Nation that is essentially a Mainstream Urban without R&B... "Hip-Hop Hits" they call it.

I like KISS XM because they play the mainstream hits, and the rhythmic hits (particularily at night) that none of the other XM CHR's will play. It's good to hear ALL the hits. They also have good jocks, and they daypart very well. "Today's Hottest Hits and Non-Stop Jamz"

Im going to have to check out KISS XM. As I tried to find it but I couldn't find it because KISS XM was skipped on the tuner at work.

Between Kiss and 20 on 20/Hits 1 on XM all the bases are covered. I'd hate to have Sirius though- Hits 1 is the only CHR option and they also don't get Pop2k (CHR hits of the 00's).
