Hey, yes, I am talking about the fans back when B96 was good, when they had a house music and dance music and good music, sounded awesome back in the early 90's. Ok, here's a link to a video that I believe was filmed in Chicago, it has the old classic Killer Bee B96 stickers from back then. Let me know, anyone who was there at the time, where was this filmed and was this a big deal that they did this video back then? Let me know!!

It is the video to "Out of Control" by the Project which I found on YouTube.

oh yeah, back when many hits were dance, those were the days.

Now we're lucky if there is just one dance hit in an entire year!

I liked it too, but music and the audience has changed. Clubs were a really big deal back then also.

I miss it.

Thanks for the link.... Loved the old B 96.

This song in particular was also a big hit at the old Hot 102 in Milwaukee which was very dance friendly in 1991. That was where I grew up.

Ah the memories. I still have plenty of mixes from that era I am going through. Does anyone else have any mixes and radio tapes made from B 96 during the Old Killer Bee and Party Radio days? Maybe we can make some tape or CD trades. Let me know. Thanks.

B

those were the days!!!!!!! B96 ruled the airwaves, i have old mix tapes from 91' to 96' of bbb, jjp, bobby d, fhr, tim schommer, who wants to trade?

don't forget B96's original mixer - Brian Middleton - he could mix with the best of them!!!

the old "B" was awesome - i remember sitting outside on rush/state on weekend nights hearing cars driving by, playing mixes on the "B". good times.

that and they had such a HUGE street presence, they were a monster to be reckoned with.

will it happen again?

DJ Kilo,

I would be willing to trade with you. I have a ton of stuff from the late nights and just got some mixes from the late 80s back when it was call the B 96 Dance Party. Just awesome stuff! E-mail me [email protected] and we can work something out! Thanks man! Love those days.

You can hear all that music non-stop 24/7 on our 90s Pop Rhythmic and 90s Dance Hits Channels. We made sure we archived that part of our beloved Chicago radio history there for you so it's never forgotten.

In fact, we have many of the mixes that ran from Bill, Julian, Tim and others back then on that 90s dance hits channel, commercials, djs and all.

Also, check out the old skool back in tha day videos, many of those videos including A'Me Lorrain (there's a lost one).

Thanks

While you are talking about the old B-96, anyone remember the old Z95 here in Chicago with Barskey? I used to love that back in the 80's. Dirty Joke of the morning ruled!

Z95 came and went in less than...what 3 years?

Barsky was good, but the rest of the "power-pig-styled" station just wouldn't and didn't work in Chicago.

Are the Dance hits all coming out of Canada then?
All I know is, in Canada radio there must play 35-40% Canadain artists, yet in Toronto Canada, a station there currently seems to be doing well with Z 103.
(a hit music station that is very dance based)

perhaps part of the reason for a lack of dance hits is that the clubs just ain't what they used to be. My guess is that the audience has changed, most not willing to go anymore. Thus, the launching pad for dance music, is missing.

Just my theory...

Not only that, it seems like not a whole lot of producers and DJ's are continuing the tradition of good dance music. The few that are, don't seem the feeling of the music. House/Dance music usually goes through a slump and then it comes back when people are bored with other genres.
