Fantastic word game

Thomas Pynchon did not win a Pulitzer Prize for Gravity's Rainbow, which the board thought was overwritten, turgid, and obscene.
 
Awesome and awful sound the same but mean completely opposite things; sometimes the English language makes no sense at all... seriously, if something or someone is awful shouldn't that mean that it or they are full of awe?

(My God, if I was still involved with this game, Basnya, I'd be tearing you apart right now. But I'm not. As The Lovely Anyacat put it so endearingly a week or two ago, Me take dictionary and go bye-bye. ;D )
