Fantastic word game

Your beginning clues are from the previous contribution's ending clue so be sure to copy it correctly or you may be subject to fines, suspensions, and a public lynching.
 
Fines, suspensions, and a public lynching were commonplace way back when WMC attended school in that little one-room school house somewhere not far from his little house on the prairie.
 
Just scream and swear and roll your eyes and maybe Mother Nature will finally figure it out.

We were in the 60s and 70s here this past weekend. Yesterday and today, it was back to 40s with a dusting of snow on the ground yesterday morning.
 
Figure it out with pencil and paper the good old-fashioned way, and leave the whippersnappers to scream and holler that you are doing it all wrong, while the rest of us get on with the business of the fun department, popping balloons with our pencils to find out the price of the banana split.
 
The price of the banana split between WMC and Miss Silkie, with WMC paying 11¢ for the peel and Miss Silkie paying 14¢ for the edible part.

See what I did there? And now here is another Fun Factoid: The United States President with the most high schools named for him is John F. Kennedy with 98.
 
At bat in a game between the Nats and the Pats, I had to yell "Scat" when a cat chased a fat rat in front of me and then I dropped my bat and lost my hat.
 
My hat, which I love to wear on a sunny day to keep the sun off my head and out of my eyes, and has the potential of being blown away if worn on a windy day, is the subject of this contribution.
 
This contribution is using the correct ending clue from the previous contribution which is the way the game was intended to be played and I think it would behoove some other people (WMC) to make sure they're playing the right way.
 
The right way would be for me to double, triple and quadruple check myself to make sure I've not missed any contributions and to make sure I turned the page.

Color me embarrassed. I could easily blame the site for disappearing posts but I'm a responsible Game Czar so I own up to my screwup. Three demerits for me. Mr. IDBC, thank you for calling me out in front of the entire class. Deservedly so. :)
 
I turned the page of the book to find that the author suggested I turn a corner in my life by turning over a new leaf which I intend to do right after I'm done taking my turn and spinning records on the turntable.
 
Turntable is considered to be the most important invention of 1877 because, prior to that time, anyone who wanted to listen to music had to put a needle on a record and then spin the record by hand.

By hand, I wrote a long letter to the PowerWorld Board of Governors (our bosses) telling them how sorry I am that I completely missed several clues and contributions and that I will strive to do better and to keep things moving along as smoothly as I possibly can.

Happy Weekend everyone. Happy Easter to those of you (including me) who celebrate it. For some of you (not me), it may be a long holiday weekend. Monday is Patriot's Day and, here in Massachusetts, Monday is also Boston Marathon Day. Happy Marathon Monday to those of you (not me) who may celebrate that. It just so happens that my retail travels on Monday will take me fairly close to the area where the race starts. I hope to get through there early and avoid the traffic headaches. Stay safe everyone.
