Fantastic word game

A cappella is indeed the correct spelling, and I won't even use big eyes and sunglasses for an excuse.
 
An excuse signed by both my mother and my father and accompanied by several pages of medical reports and three x-rays was still unacceptable to my sixth-grade school teacher, who accused me of faking an illness and then informed me that I would not be allowed to return to class until I submitted sworn statements from five local doctors and the United States Surgeon General.

Anyone who has seen the 1996 movie Matilda will understand when I say this woman was worse than Agatha Trunchbull!
 
The United States Surgeon General used to be C. Everett Koop but that was a long time ago and I really have no idea who holds that position now because no matter who they are, they will never have a name as cool as C. Everett Koop.
 
A name as cool as C. Everett Koop is still not quite as cool as a name like quadraphonic.

Maybe that will get him back.

A name like quadraphonic evokes memories of setting up four speakers in the living room, connecting them to two dual-mono amplifiers, hooking up a 4-channel tape deck to the amps and enjoying a reel of some fantastic sounding "mastered-in-discrete-quadraphonic" Rock and Roll music!

Rock and Roll music was strictly forbidden from our band camps way back in their early days over fears that the music would turn innocent young campers into hooligans and huckleberries.
 
Hooligans and huckleberries would have been a cute title for Disney's 1995 movie based on Mark Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer but it never would have fit on a theater marquee and the film wound up being titled simply Tom and Huck.

Kinda like how Disney made a movie about the Muppets and titled it The Muppets...and the new tv series starring the Muppets is also titled The Muppets. *Sigh*
 
Tom and Huck never ran into a woodchuck to see how much wood it could chuck if it could chuck wood, but in this day and age would it matter, and would anyone but our band campers know what we were talking about?
 
We were talking about Mark Twain and his writings of Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer, which were set in lovely St. Petersburg, Missouri, based off the real-life town of Hannibal, Missouri.

See what I did there? By the way, "Hannibal" was a nickname. The real name of George Peppard's character was John Smith. Yeah, not very original. The real name of Mr. T's character was Bosco Baracus. Bosco? That's even worse!
 
Hannibal, Missouri is not a city I've visited but I have been to St. Louis where I visited the Arch including a trip to the tippy top

The tippy top of PowerWorld's grand plan is the grand opening of the new Illusions tonight so come on down and help us rock the new dump.

Doors open at 6pm. Kenny, Dave, myself and the 80s Rockfest commence at 7pm. Come on down and bring a friend or ten. Plenty of bottled water on hand. The new and improved mechanical bull is in full working order. MarcB and his mom might even show up. If anyone can find quadraphonic drag him in please. See ya there!
 
The new dump is a site for sore eyes as we rock the place with Kenny, Dave and I playing the tunes, the lovely young library interns serving the eats (and also rocking out), and Miss Silkie riding the mechanical bull.

Great to see lots of new and returning faces amongst the crowd. quadraphonic hasn't shown up though. But I'm pretty sure I saw MarcB come in.
 
Miss Silkie riding the mechanical bull was quite the site to behold but even more amazing was watching both Thomps and JeffM try to catch her when she was thrown off.

Must have been quite a late night for lots of people since I'm the only one contributing today. Thanks to all the PowerWorld associates for coming by last night. It was a fantastic grand opening to the new Illusions.
 
The wrong direction was taken a few posts ago when WMC failed to follow up on a contribution from Thomps that ended with the clue, The A-Team.

Honestly, WMC, you may be the Game Czar and all that but this type of carelessness cannot be allowed. Therefore you are hereby banned from the band camp library for the next 2 days and you are to have NO contact with the lovely young library interns during that time.
 
The A-Team will be on the lookout for any Game Czar activity near the library, including on wiggly tippy toes, by using motion sensors.

The interns are sad that they will not be fawned over, and that they cannot gush over WMC, but they said that they understand the firm resolve of the International Band Camp Director and the vote of the Board.
 
By using motion sensors, the emotion censors in the Disney-Pixar movie Inside Out were able to detect when Sadness and Disgust were about to enter areas of Riley's mind where they had no business being.

And if you liked that pun, you'll be eagerly awaiting the publication of my new romantic novel Censor & Sensor-bilities. :)
 
Being the Game Czar, I should have double and triple and quadruple checked to make sure I followed up correctly.

Wow, I am suitably embarrassed and will accept my punishment like the man that I am.
