Illusions is closed today is it is most Mondays to allow for clean up, mop up, restocking of the bar, mechanical bull maintenance, and the patching of a few holes in the walls caused by some rowdy and unruly patrons.
Some rowdy and unruly patrons might get impatient while waiting for the site to load, but we have a lot going on, so we just do something else while we wait for it to load or display a window indicating interactive time out.
Time out in the corner was something I experienced quite frequently during my school days.
I was also a frequent visitor to the principal's office and some of the teachers must have really liked me because they would often ask me to come in on Saturdays or stay after school.
School days are long over for me although, at this point, I wouldn't mind taking a Punnetry class from LARR.
I really miss the guy, even his overdone and persistent puns. We could use those right about now. He was good for a couple of pages a day all by his own self.
Our institutes of higher learning, along with pretty much everything else, are all closed here in Massachusetts although we have opened one of our band camps as shelter for those without power and also for those kids and others who want to do some sledding and skiing.
Some sledding and skiing would have been a fun way to pass the time yesterday while I was waiting for the Radio Discussions website to come back online.
Online again, we are back up and running after an extended delay during which our good friends at Radio Discussions were doing some stuff behind the scenes.
If Darth was here, he'd be giving us a lengthy debriefing on all things related to whatever it is that they did.
Some stuff behind the scenes is probably happening a lot more frequently than we realize so it's nice to know that you and I can focus on moving the game forward while those dedicated behind the scenes workers do most of the heavy lifting.
Most of the heavy lifting was handled by the fine young men of Romania as we set up the new library and lounge after the International Band Camp Director finalized negotiations.
The International Band Camp Director finalized negotiations for our newest band camp location in Romania and then he went out to celebrate and party with the locals.
Strangely enough, they even have a local watering hole named "Iluzii" which is the Romanian word for "illusion" as in "Illusions", the name of our favorite Wolcott, CT night club. No mechanical bull though, instead they had a mechanical donkey. Go figure.
The locals from Romania have been invited to Illusions to see how it's done.
Happy Weekend. I'll try to keep the ship afloat over the weekend as I always do what with the rest of you ingrates not bothering to stop by. Hope to see you at Illusions Saturday night where we'll get the place jammin' for the Romanians with our mechanical bull, plenty of bottled water, and maybe we'll try to get in some topless driving on the indoor racetrack. Kenny is already preparing to pay for an extra big breakfast at Denny's on Sunday morning.
You have to go for some topless driving, definitely, but you'll have to wait a few months here in New England because, otherwise, you might catch a cold.
Today's mail is slim pickings as opposed to back in the day when we'd get armloads of stuff including letters, bills, catalogs, magazines, coupons, ads, and Miss Silkie's Recipe Of The Week.
Letters, bills, catalogs, magazines, coupons, ads, and Miss Silkie's Recipe Of The Week were amongst the items I generally expected to find in my mailbox. 📬
