Florida is called The Sunshine State because of the sun and fun, among many attractive features.

Attractive features take up too much time on morning shows like "Today" and "Good Morning America," wasting time that could be used for real news.

A rarity in today's world is a politician who isn't taking handouts from lobbyists and special interest groups.

Groups of band campers will make presentations tomorrow in front of their teachers on what Presidents' Day means to them.

And it's not car sales, mattress sales, or clothing sales.

What Presidents' Day means to them is a day off from school and a three-day weekend.

A three-day weekend is never something we balk at when we have much catching up to do with our fun time.

Yes, we will be seeing who can bake a loaf of bread that actually rises and has some air holes. Seriously, bread is supposed to rise before baking and have air holes when baked.

Fun time, in a perfect world, would always be followed by nap time.

Nap time was the one subject I aced in nursery school.

In nursery school, I always daydreamed of becoming a Game Czar covering all activities at recess.

For those PowerWorld associates taking a floating holiday on Monday, enjoy your holiday weekend. I'll be checking out activities around band camp. There is no rest for the Game Czar. I'll be working in real life as well as it is not a paid holiday for my company.

All activities at recess are supervised by adults and safe for children of all ages.

Children of all ages no longer play jacks, shoot marbles or put baseball cards in the spokes of their bikes the way they did in the good old days.

The good old days are filled with fond memories of days gone by but that's because we tend block out the unpleasant memories over the years and instead just focus on those things that brought us joy and happiness.

Joy and happiness are things that are sometimes easier said than done.

Done in by cold winter weather, I'd sure like to take a trip south right about now but I won't be in sunny Florida until the end of May.

The end of May is what British political pundits are predicting for their prime minister as the result of the Brexit fiasco.

The Brexit fiasco reminds me of the time when certain contributors to our game tried to mess it up and get it shut down.

One of them was the individual who started up this game in the first place.
