Fantastic word game

The next one who sends out any demerits to my roadside mailbox, n' ain't a representative o' the Vermont Boudoir, is fixin' to join me in a throwdown.

Speakin' o' Commandments, here's the set that both rednecks n' hillbillies generally sub-scribe to.

WMC, Sinister Semicolons are employed only when I'm lookin' to cause yer head to explode. The two sentences, er...uh, are just the resultin' effects o' bein' a dumb ol' hayseed.

Pine-Sol is my recommendation in washin' his mouth out fer ever suggestin' such an unnecessary penalty.

You see how he just ran straight into yer office n' made himself right at home, Czar o' Linguistics? Pushed Kayla to the side, w/o so much as a "Good mornin', ma'am", "How d'ya do", er anything?

Do any o' y'all still wonder why I keep a peeper (n' a steady digit on the hairpin trigger) firmly locked t'wards the entryway o' the cozy, plush, corner office?

An unnecessary penalty, in my opinion, is the issuing of a fine to a professional athlete for simply doing a victory dance.

-- Edit? What edit? :)

A victory dance is something that Kayla (the Petite Blonde Intern, as many prefer) is too classy to perform, but ol' Ed did just give her a reason to tap her finger.

Then went n' got all sneaky 'bout it n' changed the error o' his ways, leavin' me to look like I ain't got no sense, whatsoever.

Well, hell, Mister Ed. What's new?

A reason to tap
her finger
on the table -
Music in her head.

This morning's attempt at a haiku, for what it's worth.

That cow is at rest
her milk no longer flows,
she will be replaced at my behest,
when it occurs, no one really knows.

Grumble... grumble... grumble...my damn toe!

A nice juicy steak
with a big ol' slab o' cornbread
n' a tater on the side,
add a glass of sweet tea
n' it's off'n to heaven I've done gone,
'cuz I just died.

A first for us, yes
And for all of us who play
This fantastic game!

This Fantastic game is a whole lot more fun now that our pal from the land o' mayflowers has eased up on his constant mentions o' the standard go-to material.

...n', I'll tell you what, it's deservin' o' a Stetson tip. Much obliged, WMC. Yer holdin' back ain't goin' unnoticed, partner.

The standard go-to material has always included the invitation to contribute with a haiku, in honor of our late friend Anyacat, which dmargalotti SHOULD know because I just mentioned it a day or so ago plus I mention it in my world-famous Welcome To TFWG speech but apparently that has all slipped dmargalotti's mind.

Ohhhhhhhh dmargalotti, how could you ever forget that? I mean, I realize Anyacat has been gone for a number of years now but still. Thank your lucky stars that Miss Silkie isn't here. She'd give you a good whooping for forgetting that.

rosecity, you think I have eased up on the standards?? Wellllllllllllllll, I guess I need to get back to mentioning band camp, the new Illusions, the 80s Rockfest and a few other things just a bit more constantly. Ed, you might want to mention TFWG once or twice PER CONTRIBUTION. rosecity misses it.

That has all slipped dmargalotti's mind so I'll just thank everyone for their haiku efforts, even the couple that seem to go beyond normal haiku form, and move us on to a new day.

A new day has dawned which means more contributions to extend the history and breadth of the Fantastic Word Game (TFWG as everyone knows I prefer).

The history and breadth of the Fantastic Word Game (TFWG as everyone knows I prefer to loathe) include several instances o' WMC just playin' by himself, such as is the case die-rectly above.

Above reference to playing by oneself has also applied to rosecitymedia at times, but it's a game-playing tactic that I avoid studiously.

As for playing with oneself ... well, that's why I have an intern.

Studiously moving the game along is why I occasionally (as do you, rosecity) follow myself with another contribution when no one else is in the area.
