Old chum is an antiquated expression of friendship that has been replaced by the texting of "bff".
The texting of "bff" will never occur between The Dude and WMC.
Th-- "Stop Hammatime! [finishes with a Hammer slide] and WMC would call each other "old chum" only if one was using the other for big fish bait.

For big fish it is recommended that you chop little fish into chum; the size of the bait fish being in direct proportion to the size of the fishy target.
The fishy target claimed by the mariners on a Mafia fishing boat often turns out to just be a reason to dump a dead body [allegedly].
To dump a dead body [allegedly] in a large body of water, it's important to make sure the alleged corpse sinks to the bottom and stays on the bottom which is why you need to fit said alleged corpse with a pair of cement shoes.
A pair of cement shoes are known to be typically ill-fitting, because the one for whom the gift is purchased does not have much say-so about the style or size they get.
