Fantastic word game

Man-made museum artifacts are best displayed where they cannot be destroyed, covered or hidden, and sometimes they go on a little visit to certain shopping center parking lots to bring joy to those who are feeling a bit downtrodden and defeated.

Those who are feeling a bit downtrodden and defeated need only to look up, toward the heavens, and realize that all this [makes wide, sweeping motion with outstretched arm] is but temporary.

Those who are feeling a bit downtrodden and defeated can attend one of Dave & Kenny's 80s Rockfests for a quick pick-me-up.

And quad sneaks in:

All this [makes wide, sweeping motion with outstretched arm] is but temporary so if you don't like what you see, wait a minute or two, it might change.

It might change, but it is up to you to make that change, and if you discover that you have been a schlep, remember that the only way to make it right is to take exactly the same course of action you took to make it wrong, since it takes a coward to be a jackass, but a man to make it right.

To make it right on those error-filled TPS reports, quad calls the employee to verbally check his work and then may end up making a personal visit to that person's workstation just to follow up.

Those personal visits from quad happened alot more often in the old days before the newfangled TFWG massive computer system made things easier. But, still, for newbies, it can be scary. I hear those unannounced visits from quad are accompanied by theme from Jaws.

Just to follow up does not usually require much more than a phone call, and if he follows up with a visit he will then be received more cordially.

quad's phone calls are also never filled with trashy flamboyance or other low rent, ostentatious, gutter freak, circus sideshow attempts at striking fear and terror into the hearts of those on the receiving end of his calls - because quad is a businessman.

More cordially received than most TPS Directors, quad is a good man and is easily the face and voice of The Fantastic Word Game.

The face and voice of The Fantastic Word Game was my first position at the FWG, even before there were TPS Reports, and for that one, I beat out Mel Blanc and Don Lafontaine.

They said they had "prior commitments." They just knew they couldn't hang.

"I beat out Mel Blanc and Don Lafontaine" is a pretty powerful statement because those two people were in the upper crust of the business.

The upper crust of the business tends to apply with their packages, their resumes, their Power Points, their DVDs, their whiz-bang live dj shows, and all other manner of things-designed-to-impress when the FWG has an opening, but, like most places, we still accept blind submissions.

Anonymity really does reign supreme at times, especially when people think they know what we are about, only to discover that we are so very generous that we even share their special talents with sick kids we know.

Incidentally, speaking of sick kids, we shared the Sweet Cheeks promotional work with a couple of sick kids downtown, and they are very excited about the prospects of having just a few precious moments for a private show - speaking of anonymity.

We know that the early fall/Labor Day session is coming right up and the band camp committee is preparing last minute checklists of asttendees, activities, room and board assignments and, of course, which staff members will be volunteering and at what location.

And if you are volunteering, and we know many of you are, please get your name into myself, dmargalotti or quadraphonic with band camp location and time of day or days. As always, we appreciate your support.

At what location you want we should show up for the Fall festivities is of little concern, as long as we don't miss our good times, speaking of which, we wish to thank the sick kid who finally recognized and called to identify who was really the prankster on the phone call to little old babushka Silkie's phone with the queen gimmicks.

People really do use smart phones to do really stupid things.  Little old babushka always did think a good case of telephonitis was funny, especially when one of the kids got a case of it. Feigned is another matter entirely.

Gimmicks that the other band camps use to attract band campers never work which is why we are always on the up and up about what we offer.

The up and up about what we offer is a good idea anytime, but especially during tumultuous times that require all of our energy, and then some, to keep up with our TPS reports, charitable distributions and the return of our favorite people in a few short weeks.

And trying to find time for storytime is all but impossible, and even then we only think about it and make notes.

The return of our favorite people in a few short weeks requires alot of prep work from all facets of PowerWorld including the IT, administration, library, food, and admissions departments.
