Fantastic word game

Continue to wince if you will as we reference old tv shows at the beginning of new sentences but the truth of the matter is originality is seriously lacking in this thread and that's why hacks like me must incorporate themes and references used by previous posters in my meager attempts to post something meaningful.

Meaningful posts are rare in this game, but I can change that right now by making at least one person look up Belshazzar's Feast.

[Unless it's the Dude, whose post I can already imagine.] ::)

Greetings from Barton College, located in beautiful Wilson, North Carolina. I always take summers off and work at a camp for Special Needs Children. One of my goals for the summer is not using the computer as much. I have been here for about 4 weeks, so I thought I would see how everyone is doing!

Stuart

Feast your eyes on the wonderful children here at camp! ;D

Belshazzar's Feast is an oratorio, so I didn't have to look it up, although all I know is what it is, additional information appreciated.

Bestow as much worthwhile praise on the moderators as you might wish but they will unfortunately never join us in this game because, as the Managing Board Editor told me in a message, none of the moderators are allowed to join in on posting so that they remain neutral even though the Fantastic Word Game is their collective most favorite Radio-Info post of all time and their most favorite R-I user of all time is, well, WMC2006. :p ;D ;D

(The MBE told me that, he really really did. True story! And...hello Stuart, nice to see you and thanks for dropping in. Try to drop in slightly more often. )

Bob Dole unsuccessfully ran for president and his wife, Elizabeth, is a former president of the American Red Cross.

WMC2006, aside from having delusions about his most-favorite poster status, has begun referring to himself in the third person much like Bob Dole.

(That's not true! WMC2006 is offended by that remark. ;D :D ;D :D )

American Red Cross volunteers are fairly literate, so it wouldn't surprise me to learn that one or more of them know that Belshazzar's Feast is a biblical story from which we get the phrase "the handwriting is on the wall."

[Nice to hear from you Stuart, though it saddens me that your first post in ages violated the rules of the game by using only one-half of the complete bolded phrase. I'll (generously) attribute it to computer "rustiness" rather than some sort of misguided Greenbergian malevolence directed at yours truly. ;D

As for Bob Dole, er, WMC2006 being the mod's favorite, I am forced to conclude that there really is no accounting for taste.]

"The handwriting is on the wall" is what happened when adorable little Patricia got her hands on a red crayon.

Mr. Furley purchased the apartment building from The Ropers, when they moved into Spin-off Acres.
