Fantastic word game

A long distance dedication to a dog sounds like it could be a touching moment for a little tyke if it came from a Hollywood celebrity like the guy who does Shaggy's voice.

Standards! Standards! We've got to maintain standards!
Otherwise this place becomes Thunderdome, with Axl Rose producing the soundtrack and Bobby Brown providing amateur pharmacological services.

(I was beaten to the punch by raptusregaliter but here was my intended post: Shaggy's voice always sounded like he had smoked a bunch of weed which would explain why he was so freaked out and paranoid about all those pseudo-ghostly encounters.)

Johnny Quest's dad, Race Bannon, or Space Ghost may have manly voices but they are no match for the Hurricane Hippo Hollar.

Basket cases will be handled by The Power World Mental Institution.

I thought we were suppose to ignore The Dude's post ,according to WMC and Quad.

Finally, a kenrayc of light!
Well at least we know the memo is going out! Nice catch!

When "Caint touch dis!" [finishes with a Hammer slide dance] or anyone else
deliberately and with malice aforethought violate the rules of the game, it should be
as if their efforts are invisible. Acknowledging their efforts only confuses the rest of the
players, and leads to lackadaisical efforts by future posters.

Standards, everyone! Remember the standards! This is The Fantastic Word Game!
We do not want the TFWG to stand for Thunderdome Funkedup World of Goofoffs.

Hurricane Hippo Hollar was the thing Peter did to land the pirate and his ship in prison

(Back to the last pre-Dude post)

In prison, lawbreakers must learn to live by society's rules and not their own or they suffer the consequences much like what happens here.

What happens here is often disheartening, and sometimes it feels as if "Caint touch dis!" [finishes with Hammer side-to-side] just don't care no mo and all memos are ignored, but then every once in a while there is a glimmer of hope that makes the bad times better, like kenrayc showed above.

:(

Wins and losses aren't supposed to be what government is about, but petty party politics is turning government into something more like a quadrennial spectator sport.

A quadrennial spectator sport would leave three intervening years for the hot stove league.

[A Point of Order regarding the Dude: Like it or not, he is still starting each post with the previous bolded word or phrase. So he is still playing the game by following one of its most fundamental directives. Unfortunately, he still refuses to indicate what part of the closing string the next player is supposed to use. And he seems to be immune to mild public shaming, so it's a coin-toss as to whether or not he will ever have that "road to Damascus" moment and change his ways.
After ruminating on this dilemma for several soul-searching hours (thank God I have no life), it occurred to me that the Dude is the closest thing this game has to a Wild Card (or Joker, if you will). He is still welcome to play, but, as long as he continues to flout one of the major rules, the next player in line can treat the Dude's post as a Wild Card i.e. (s)he can use the last word, any part of the closing string that isn't part of the opening string, or the closing bolded word or string from the previous entry. This is pretty much what people are doing already, but at least now we will have a Wild Card rule and not have to waste any more time on it. The floor is open for debate...]

The hot stove league sounds like it might be a great concept for a show on The Food Channel.

(For the record, I would like to second the motion by raptusregaliter to incorporate the Wild Card rule as it applies to the Dude. Let it be known however that this exception and exemption should only be extended to the Dude as he is after all the original founder of TFWG.)
