Fantastic word game

Kudzooter, please read the rules that I will post following this sentence and then please follow the rules or you will suffer dire consequences from all TFWG participants.

The rules are:

-ONE sentence and ONE sentence only
-bold the 'old' clue (which is the ending clue from the previous poster) and bold the new clue (which is the ending clue from your post)
-as your clue, you may use a word, a phrase, or a proper name. The game started out (2 years ago!) with just one-word clues. It has evolved (as stated above) to include a phrase or proper name but you can still use just one word if that's what you prefer.
-Cycle back a few pages and reread the game if you need to understand what we do here.
-I am the Game Czar.
-Quad is the TPS Czar
-Anyacat is Director of Energy and Tourism
-Raptus (who seems to have disappeared) is our Linguistics Czar. Make sure your sentence structure is proper.
-Myself, quad, Anyacat, dmargalotti and raptusregalitur (who seems to have disappeared) all make up the TFWG/PowerWorld Board of Directors. dmargalotti doesn't really have a title. We need to work on that at some point.
-Some of us have a tendency to avoid clues given by TheDude because he doesn't adhere to the rules even though he started this thread two years ago. It's ok to bypass his posts and revert back to the previous poster's clue.
-TPS reports to quad (or sometimes me if he is busy).
-Above all, have fun and always remember: ONE sentence only. And welcome aboard. ;D

All TFWG participants must follow the rules stated by WMC or will result in demerits and time outs.

Demerits and time outs under the current TFWG Board are fondly viewed by long-time participants as far less invasive and punitive than the old rules.

Dang them rules should be some kind of sticky on the forum.
That would be helpful.

Far less invasive and punitive than the old rules are still rules, let's hear it for anarchy.

(Travel Tip: See WMC. See WMC's head explode at the very thought of coloring outside the lines, much less breaking a much vaunted rule. Earlier I mentioned the joys of Route 66. One of the must sees is Jackrabbit Trading Post in Joseph City, Arizona. You will know you've arrived when you see the big fiberglass rabbit in front of the "Here It Is" shop.)

Anarchy is no way to build a community.

Have ya seen some of those anarchists? They're a sad, pitiful lot.
They always end up hurting themselves and others, unless it's just a hypothetical anarchy.
If it's hypothetical anarchy, we're better off having a hypothetical Utopia.

A community is only as good as its party room.

(Travel Tip: Continuing on Route 66: The Wigwam Motel in Rialto, California, was built in 1949 and has been restored by its new owners. You too can sleep in a Wigwam, albeit one made of concrete with indoor plumbing and air conditioning. Make reservations.)

I saw that on "Cars!"

The rules are:

Excuse me......

This game was setup by ME and you guys changed the rules in the thread,i will RESTATE THE RULES NOW!!

You take the LAST word of the sentence and make a new sentence. (It doesnt matter how many there are)

EX: A man lived by the water.

The Result:

Water the grass.

Since you have brought up RULES,i figured it was time to state what my ORIGINAL RULES ON THIS THREAD were :)

Anyway on with the game........

Room #1332 was the biggest room in the house.

Room for new leadership was created by the vacuum left when "Caint touch dis!" [finishes with a Hammer dance side-to-side] blithely abdicated the position he created but which he still refuses to uphold the duties of.

Other people only stepped up because That Guy stepped out for so long and so repeatedly.
Don't be That Guy.

He still refuses to uphold the duties of the game and, even in trying to state his case, comes up with one of his all-time foolish posts, restates his example from 2 years ago (with bolding) and then doesn't bother to bold and ending clue from his new foolish post which we are all wisely ignoring.

(Dude, it became obvious long ago that you stopped caring about this game. It and we have moved onward and upward. You can either join us or move on as well.)

Ignoring quite a bit of the inside backbiting of explanatory posts, I believe I've got it, and will attempt to govern my future contributions accordingly.

Accordingly, his ire up, Dud stalks away, muttering invectives all the way into message board oblivion.

(Travel Tip: Recent events have reminded me of the wonders of our nation's capitol, not the least of which is Mama Ayesha's Calvert Cafe, 1967 Calvert St., NW. We found it was it was the dark and funky Calvert Cafe serving fantastic Middle Eastern food at inexpensive prices. Alas, Mama died and the cafe became the property of her nephews and underwent a drastic renovation [although I agree that bathroom should have been condemned.] Anyway, now it's sleek, bright, light, has a terrific new bathroom and a is more expensive. But the food is still incredibly good. So when in DC, stop in at Mama Ayesha's.)

Oblivion is a word i dont use very often..

Dude, if'n ya care so much, at least go to the trouble of bolding the lead-in you intend at the end of your sentence.
The way you do it, it's pretty funkin' unclear what the next person should do, and it affects the give and take, it's all take for the next person. Of course, that's been pointed out multiple times, but ya keep on, oblivious. Which makes it appear you do not care.
It's not a "game" and is pretty boring if we're going with only one word at a time. Using phrases has livened up the game far past the "one unbolded word" level.
And the continued use of bolding in other places [and even that post] shows you can bold, you just choose not to in "the game you care about."

Just sayin.....

I didnt state that @ the start of this so why should i start doing it now??

Ah well...........

Ill let you guys run rampent, ignoring my original game (Your just making it look stupid thats all)

This is my last comment about it :)

With all due respect, Quad, I have to side with the Dude on this one. While this "game" is fun for a few, it's actually like a private club of just a few people. I started contributing a few weeks ago and was "corrected" and "directed" by WMC to the Grand High Exalted Rules that apparently appeared several pages earlier. When I finally located the "rules" I realized that I hadn't "breached" any of the rules at all. Then, when I correctly used an ellipsis in a later contribution, I was "reprimanded" by WMC for using it. He's already enacted a "hostile takeover" of this game and that's fine by me, after all, I came late to the game and if y'all dig WMC's Dungeons & Dragons version of the Fantastic Word Game(which the Dude started), then have at it. It just isn't fun now that I realize that whether you're right or wrong depends on what kind of day WMC's having (his aversion to the ellipsis is irrational and incorrect). But, since WMC has seen fit to add other rules, why not come up with a compromise rule like if someone doesn't 'boldface' a specific word or phrase at the end of the sentence, the next contributor is to proceed as if the last word was "boldfaced". Problem solved. Of course, that would be too easy for WMC. I suspect he 'eyeing' LasVegasRadioJunky's trivia game now and planning to hijack it, as well. He's already critiquing every thing that LVRJ does that he(WMC) would do differently, so I'm prepared for a thread coup d'etat if it comes. I'm hunkering down. ;D

The ITG lame ;D

For what it's worth, we've all acknowledged that the Dude is respected for founding TFWG...however the game has continued for beyond the success of any other Dude-initiated posts (and they are plentiful) because of a steadfast core of regular contributors. Yes, the rules have been tweaked as the game continues to grow. Evaluation, modification, and change are necessary in any successful enterprise. If you're doing business today the way you did business yesterday, you will be out of business tomorrow. Exceptions have been included for the Dude giving participants the option to incorporate all or part of his preceding post or they can ignore it completely. The incorporation of using an end phrase rather than a word has made for some very interesting and even challenging posts. And because of this addition, the bolding of an end clue becomes even more crucial.

With regards to WMC...anyone who takes him seriously or finds offense at has admonishments is a fool. Do you really think he gets his panties in a bunch every time the Dude forgets to bold his clues or Andrea uses the ... (whatever the heck it's called)? It's an act...it's a game...it's all for fun. I look forward to seeing WMC spaz out as much as I look forward to Anyacat's travel tips and the often funny, creative posts from the rest of the regulars on TFWG.

So my fellow posters, it appears we are at a crucial and important time concerning the future of TFWG. Where we go from here is up to each one of you. Our mission is clear. The challenges are many. So in closing, I say ask not what TFWG can do for you...ask what you can do for TFWG.

Though far from a fool, I find his "admonishments" unnecessary, convoluted and, quite the contrary, unentertaining at all, but, as I said, to the regulars who are into that sort of thing, have at it. It's your world, I'm just on another thread.
