Fantastic word game

All your base are belong to us is a sensless statement that would not be allowed in band camp.

Band camp members often take advantage of information from the world-renowned Anyacat's Travel Tips, sponsored by Radio-Info.

The world-renowned Anyacat's Travel Tips, sponsored by Radio-Info notwithstanding, the comments aimed at anyone outside the obvious inner circle, could lead one to believe this Radio-Info-provided board might well have a sign, If you're not already here, you're not welcome.

If you're not already here, you're not welcome would be waaaaaaaaaaaaay too strong a phrasing for what goes on here.

OPEN LETTER TO ANYONE:
Yall are all welcome here. Jump in anytime you want. There's no "inner circle" just a bunch of people who have posted more often. That's just how it's worked out.
No harm intended to any of yall. We welcome the new blood, we promise, as long as it ain't trying to change the old blood, because old blood and money and running a tight ship and a little je ne sais quoi from time to time are what keeps this place going so strong.
Best of all, no matter what ya say, nobody's going to get their panties in a wad, because we're all going commando! ;)

What goes on here is that we welcome anyone to our happy little bunch of delinquints as long as you can write a sentence and be timely with your TPS reports.

Maybe that's what keeps 'em away. Timeliness and TPS reports. ;)

Your TPS reports state that people are much happier once they have attended band camp.

(Not everyone gather round and give kudzooter a big group welcome hug and sloppy kiss) Meanwhile, I am bummed that James Witmore died. He was a wonderful actor and he will be missed. "Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana." ---Groucho Marx

Band camp seems to be such a popular topic tonight that I'll have to google "band camp" tomorrow to see how high this thread is in the rankings.

I said that, but now I realize I won't do it. I'll be sitting here until the sun comes up, working on work stuff, and enjoying taking 'goin' commando' to its furthest end. ;)

The rankings of Anyacat's most thought-provoking posts are stuck in neutral as she has come down with an apparent case of TheDude-itis which does not allow her to post anything of substance and I feel that we may have to put her in quarantine for an extended period of time during which she will have to relinquish her Energy and Tourism duties.

Andrea, get some energy/tourism tips ready just in case. ;)

Her Energy and Tourism duties have been sadly sidelined, what with her current obsession with all things band camp.

(I can't help it, the very idea of band camp makes me chuckle).

So here's one more Travel Tip for the road: I was one of those fools who ate at Le Cirque in New York, where they treat you like dirt because you are not a celebrity but take your money for their way over priced food. I hear that in their new location there is a cafe as well as a dining room. No doubt the cafe offers over priced hamburgers. I enjoy well prepared food in a comfortable atmosphere but it just spoils the whole experience when I get the feeling that even the bus boys are sneering at me. I understand from some friends that new, relatively inexpensive restaurants offer some really terrific food. They promise to take me to Gusto Ristorante e Bar Americano when next I visit, which offers a terrific meal for less than $40--and that's not bad when chowing down in NYC. The restaurant received an 8.3 out of a possible 10 in the New York Times, so it's probably not dreadful. Don't even get me started on The Tavern on The Green--no extra charge for staples in your salad or the condescending waiters.)

Band camp makes a wonderful pork&beans for us of the impaired-hearing persuasion.

"The impaired-hearing persuasion" is one of those phrases that doesn't actually make sense as the word "persuasion" is defined "as strategy of problem-solving relying on "appeals" rather than strength."

(I could easily have worked band camp into the end of this somewhat school marmish sentence, thus amusing myself but probably incurring the wrath of others, but beware Band Camp strikes when on least expects it.)

Appeals rather than strength persuaded Anyacat to refrain from using the term "band camp" in other sentence but I for one found her continued use of the phrase (introduced into the game by me by the way) to be extremely funny and very entertaining.

Extremely funny and very entertaining it was, indeed, but it did get old kinda quickly and it may be better to use it slightly more sparingly (daily but at a completely unexpected juncture) rather than every single clue.

Anyacat, I'm noticing quite a few spelling errors from you over the last 48 hours or so which is very much unlike the Anyacat we know and love. I'm concerned that you've lost a finger or two due to some industrial accident at band camp or something. ??? :'(

Every single clue leads one to band camp--or not.

(Actually, I usually check my spelling before posting but on the other hand I have lately forgotten to place in bold those very important words. Oddly, live goes on just the same.)

Not only does 'live' go on but so does life and so does TFWG and, at this point, I think the Boys of TFWG may have to corral Anyacat and stage an intervention.

I'll get the room and counselors ready; quad, get the warm towels; dmargalotti, you get the books; andrea, stand by for moral support. Everyone else be ready to pick up the slack. This could take us through mid-week.

'At's what I'm talkin' bout kudzooter! :)

An intervention would be beneficial for Anyacat and probably cathartic for all of us, but I think it would remind me too much of band camp, or "The Two Coreys."

"The Two Coreys" do not remind me at all of band camp.

(What the hell, in for a penny, in for a pound.)

Band camp is something I don't ever recall doing. :)

Isn't it funny how I get called on for one of two things - moral support or favors of the feminine persuasion? :) Just a thought... :-*

Andrea

Doing those favors of feminine persuasion is why we call on you alot although they may not help in Anyacat's case but they sure will help the rest of us. ;D
