Question anyone before you give them authority.
Authority figures can include parents, police officers, employers, teachers and principals, and of course, band camp leaders.
Question their authority and a lot of people will clear blow up on you, which shows they really weren't that authoritative to begin with.

To me and no one else was the letter addressed to,but my friend took it upon himself to open it and then he tried to sell it on E-Bay because it contained an autographed picture of Olivia Newton-John.

Alexander Butterfield as far as I know was not related to legendary jazz trumpeter and bandleader Billy Butterfield.
Billy Butterfield probably got teased a lot for his name at band camp, and that probably helped him learn to wail on the horn.
