Fantastic word game

"Grease" has often been mentioned in association with the lovely Olivia Newton-John on this board but because of a prolonged absence away from TFWG, our friend Stuart wouldn't know that unless he made a point of going back and reading the hundreds of pages and thousands of posts that have accumulated in his absence.

In his absence the lovely Olivia devised all manner of happy surprises for her lovin' man upon his arrival home.

Upon his arrival home (and by "home" I mean this board), quad discovered that the goddess of a new generation April Bowlby had usurped the mediocre ONJ in the hearts and minds of all who care about such things.

There. That oughta do it...

All who care about such things gathered round the annual band camp bonfire and beer bong to celebrate the passing of another halcyon summer and the fleeting nature of ONJ fandom.

Fandom, (which is not really a word according to the FWG spell check, I see some things have not changed!) is something Ms. John has enjoyed for many decades.

Who is April Bowlby?, Could I have a quick guide to the new thread lines?

Where is the Great and Powerful (should I say his name?), "The Dude"?

Decades from now, I hope we are still making regular contributions to TFWG while occasionally mocking each other for misspellings, typos, and various errors of grammar and syntax.

Misspellings, typos, and various errors of grammar and syntax are usually minor matters that can be easily rectified by resourceful use of The St. Martin's Handbook, available in the reference section of the band camp library.

Stuart, Dude is no longer involved with TFWG. We haven't seen him here in over a year. You can find him elsewhere on the Off The Air board. You can usually find him creating a post about how everything today is garbage and how everything was better back in the 80s.

The band camp libary is a good place for researching, reading, and taking a catnap.

Sleeping is what I'm going to do after I have my last beer and listen to more Classic rock.

Stuart use the entire bolded clue to post.

Classic rock was what I was listening to a few hours ago, when a friend suggested an XXX-download site where I noticed an "adult documentary" entitled Band Camp!!!

No need to get offended. No one named anything like ON-J in the credits.

Band Camp is usually discussed in discreet, hush-hush fashion, but in that adult film version that smeared our bastion [not literally, thankfully], fashion of any sort, hush-hush or otherwise, did not even seem to be a concern at all, and didn't even appear to be a budgeted item.

Sorry I've missed the meetings. Yall wouldn't believe what happened. It will have to suffice to say "I got sick, and ONJ nursed me back to health."
Previously-filed TPS Reports and updates should be being returned to everyone's inboxes as we speak.

A budgeted item in these times would have to be XM Radio.

I am sorry for not using the full sentence a couple of posts ago. I am still a little rusty with the game. I am also have many emotions about absence of "The Dude". He was my friend and mentor. When I had a problem, we would discuss it, maybe prescribe some medications...wait, that is my Psychiatrist I am talking about. I will be more careful.

Overpriced won't get you very far these days in this economy which is why TFWG Band Camp is well worth the money and has exceeded most expectations this summer.

Stuart, as Game Czar, I need to remind you to use the entire previous ending bolded clue as your new beginning clue. However, as you've been away for quite some time, I will excuse you...this one time. I wouldn't want to have to assign demerits to your account. It's very embarrassing. Just ask Silkie.

Quad, nice to see you back. Please use extra time to catch up on the last week or two of posts. TPS Reports and other paperwork have been redirected to me for several days and I have redirected some to dm and Silkie. I will redirect the redirection back to you starting tomorrow morning. I trust you won't be disappearing again without warning.

Meanwhile, you may notice that we've had a good week: both Stuart and Anyacat have returned to us following extended absences. And Anyacat is now married to some Patagonian truck driver. I think that's what she said. I might have misunderstood her. dm was creating rumors about you and Anyacat so that's probably where I got that. You can speak to him about it.

Most expectations this summer were far exceeded by a mile...

Technology and whatnot has stripped children today of their imaginations because without video and computer games, they grow bored easily and heaven forbid if they ever had to go outside to play and make up their own fun.

Make up their own fun is what teenage boys and girls have been doing together since the dawn of time.

Only today they record it, put it online, and pretend to be celebrities.

Stuart, that's like asking "Who is Marilyn Monroe?" or "Who is Cindy Crawford?" It's a shame you don't have access to some sort of internet device where you could, you know, just type in her name and be provided with all sorts of breathtaking pictures and personal information. If you like, I can make some charcoal drawings on animal hides and send them to you via wagon train.

The dawn of time seems to be when TFWG began, but today's kids would know nothing of that about which we speak, as they have computer games like "guess the blogger" and "musical chair sites", depending upon how much harder they have to run and play, which certain ones simply cannot handle in competitiveness that is clean and wholesome.

Dang! Forgot to do the bold thingy on that last part.
