Disappearing at an alarming rate, in addition to arcades in malls, are newsstands, where it used to be neat to go and get a distant newspaper on Monday or whenever they came in.
They came in (the distant city newspapers) once a week at the Big Y Supermarket in a nearby town, but they no longer carry them.
I remember buying a Florida Paper once and a Canadian newspaper there once. Big Y is a small independent Supermarket chain based in Springfield, Masachuesetts, with stores in Massachusetts and Connecticut. http://www.bigy.com/
No longer made and gone forever are my antique, handmade Russian ornaments, as well as the beautiful ornaments that my grandmother made for me each and every year for my Christmas tree/Chanukkah bush.
Well before Christmas a local radio station started playing 24/7 Christmas music, and started it the day after Halloween.
Yes I misspelled "received" earlier, andSilkie caught it, I tried to fix it but it was to late, I figure I wasgoing to hear it from WMC later so had to mention it. I know i before e except after c.
Time and time again people become slightly crazy about every dangled participle and misspelled word on this board as if this is a high literature or a priceless work of art.
Art Garfunkle was one-half of musical duo with Paul Simon who may or may not have been the creator of the game Simon Says.
Wow, seems we may reach The Quest by the end of the weekend. Unfortunately, I have to work on Saturday (possibly Sunday as well) so those of you who are here will have to step it up a notch. Usually, I'm here on weekends but duty calls. But it's still exciting. You can feel the buzz, can't you. It'd be nice if the nice folks here at Radio-Info somehow recognized us for this great achievement.
Over the next couple of days, the moderators, owners and editors of Radio-Info have undoubtedly been trying to figure out how to celebrate what has become the longest-lasting, most fruitful, most important thread in their website's history.
And, maybe, JUST MAYBE, for the Quest to Page 1000 celebration, they may just show their faces here at TFWG to congratulate us. Or announce it on the Annoucement Board. Or maybe not. ;D
Cat, I hope you don't go back to sporadic attendance. Because our Quest to Page 100,000 would get off to a very slow start.
On their Website's history, the good people at Radio-Info.com never imagined that a thread would be hijacked by a bunch of Olivia Newton-John loving, band camp obsessed, grammatically challenged bunch of malcontents.
(are we there yet?)
DAMN, Quad
This level of juggernaut is by far nothing ever conceived in the relatively short life of online board threads.
