Fantastic word game

Winter officially begins tomorrow, December 21, which also happens to be the shortest day of the year.

Anyacat said:
Up and running, the morning silence is broken with the sound of snowblowers and the scent of diesel fuel: It smiles like...winter.

It smiles like winter?? ??? And, it apparently smiles with two sentences but I won't mention that because I wouldn't want to be accused of being anal retentive. :p

The shortest day of the year also falls on a short holiday week and I, for one, plan to only work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

That's the plan anyway. All PowerWorld worldwide offices and properties will close at noon on Thursday December 24th. PowerWorld security and some emergency IT staff will be on hand on staggered shifts. Everyone returns at their respective times and shifts on Monday for another 4 day week. If you don't celebrate Christmas and wish to work from home, please notify quad via your TPS report and you will be compensated.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (and even Thursday) are gonna be crazy days at the local malls and Walmart stores.

Monday Walmart is rolling out those stupid-azz Zhu Zhu rodents. And I'm gonna be one of the whack-jobs at the mall on Tuesday getting a gift for my mom and dad. I won't deal with the parking tho. I'm gonna bribe by ADOPTED SICILIAN BROTHER to take me to the mall after he puts in 9 hours (8 + 1 hr lunch) at Walmart.

Local malls and Walmart stores will be going full tilt this week to accomodate holiday shoppers including those stupid shoppers who ask stupid questions every single year.

Including in grocery stores. The people who leave their shopping carts in the middle of the aisle and can't push it to the side. The stupid questions: "Where's the ice cream?" I could go on. ::)

Every single year I tell myself that the year is gonna be better than the previous, but I always somehow manage to blow it.

I love the ones who have "reunions" in the middle of the main aisle at the stores blocking traffic on foot and pushing carts. Just because you and your husband have seen your best friend from kindergarten whom you haven't seen in 15 years because she moved to East Nowhere 2 weeks before graduation does not give you the right to block traffic.

Always somehow manage to blow it does Marc and we hope that, with his new posting gig here at TFWG, that his 2010 will bring only great things.

A long afternoon nap is what I needed today, but I took it at 9AM this morning.

The nap did me good even though I got interrupted by 3 phone calls. One from Rodent telling me he called out of work today because of the snow (the same thing he told me on Facebook Chat last night). I ended up hanging up on him because while talking to me he was arguing with his mom about going to work. Then mom called me to tell me that she and dad were done shoveling and that my dad was doing ok. Then Paul called me and we talked for almost an hour, so I stayed awake after getting off the phone with him.

Lately, it seems more and more celebrities have been dying and 2009 has been a bonanza for celebrity deaths.

Add 32 year old actress Brittany Murphy to the 2009 list that already includes Ed McMahon, Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and many others.

Threes and other single digits are what the temperatures are like during winter months and I hope to get back to the high double digits really soon.

Oral Roberts, Brittany Murphy, and Alaina Reed-Hall (who actually died in Nov but it was just announced this weekend). There's your threebie.
