Fantastic word game

Her check writing speed is so slow as to be almost laughable, and her court awareness so low it's frustrating, but she's always going to be there, so it's almost always just best to not go shopping when you're in a hurry.

The look of confusion when they tell her she just needs to sign the check is priceless. Every time, it's the same. But you know she's heard that they deduct the check right there and hand it back to her before, because every time you go to a line, she's there, hearing the same admonition from the cashier. Or it's one of her doppelgangers.

Winter weather sucks again across the midwest and into the mid-Atlantic, now moved back from Tuesday into Wednesday into midday Thursday, so I can understand why bears just say screw it and go to bed until around May.

Pic-a-nic baskets are best when they contain fried chicken and fresh peach pie, both of which made with lard.

(I have ennui and I am snowed-in.)

Lard is used by the Amish in much of their cooking, not to be confused with whale blubber, which is used by Eskimos.

Eskimos sound like interesting people, although they probably might not have ever eaten a peach pie made of fine Southern peaches, but if they offer you any Eskimo pies, make sure they are the ice cream kind.

The ice cream kind of Eskimo Pie would certainly be different from The Far Side cartoon, which featured a polar bear telling another polar bear, "Hey, these things are great, crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside."

In a hurry for spring to come. - for spring to come is the clue.

It seems to me that we are losing our goal of providing full sentences and I am wondering, quad, how it is that you accepted that contribution from MarcB when it is obviously nothing close to a sentence.

It's not even an implied sentence. I don't see how even raptus could accept that as a contribution. What gives, quad?

Nothing close to a sentence is how WMC described MarcB's contribution but rather than immediately challenge it's validity as Game Czar, he is trying to lay the blame at the feet of quad and raptus.

WMC, if you are unable to fulfill your duties as Game Czar during the day because of other commitments, then perhaps you need to delegate authority and appoint another TFWG'er to be Acting Game Czar in your absence.

The feet of quad and raptus are clean and blameless in all manners of questionable wrongdoing.

I let it slide because Marc's earned a pass every now and then. Plus I'm up to my wazoo in TPS Reports over hee-yah!!

Wrongdoing occurs more frequently lately and it is up to all members of the TFWG Board, as it always has been Mr. Executive Director, to control what does and doesn't happen here.

It's always been everyone's commitment here to control those things whether I'm here or not. You guys are here constantly during the day.

The fancy corner office and big brass nameplate are not nearly as important as the satisfaction of a job well done.

I didn't fix it because I wasn't around. I didn't get to log out before my office computer hiccuped and died, then I spent the rest of the day troubleshooting. Plus, I've given up trying to enforce the rule about implied subjects and verbs since only a couple of us purists seem to care. :( :(
