Fantastic word game

All things library in Vancouver, come next year, will be found downtown.

And the historic library headquarters near the Clark County PUD, originally erected in the late 1950s if I remember correctly, will be shut down, its contents having been moved to the new building which as of yet is still forthcoming. Presumably they are going to demolish the old building and build a mini-mall there (as if Clark County in general doesn't have more than enough of those as it is.) Sad, especially considering I have always been rather fond of Bauhaus-styled architecture.

The number of bedrooms in your home that are connected to cable are probably not often tuned into CNN as much as they used to be.

Initial drive used tfor booting my computer is a 3 1/2" floppy drive on A:, then a 5" drive on B:, and if neither has a bootable disk loaded control is automatically handed over to hda6:/, the boot partition on my hard drive.

At which point LILO kicks in, and I am confronted with a number of choices: Win NT2K bootloader (access to 98, 2K and Free DOS), BSD, Solaris or Mandrake.

Didja ever have to make up your mind, say yes to one and leave the other behind? ;o)

The boot partition on my hard drive can sometimes act is if it has a mind of it's own which really wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be true because one day those danged computers are going to take over the world just like it happened in that movie I saw late one night on the boob tube.

All over the place this coming weekend, TFWG's foreign exchange students will be packing up, heading out, and shipping off to their home sweet homes.

And we thank the nearly 100 people thus far who have volunteered their time to help out during the foreign exchange shutdown this weekend. Gates will close for the weekend on Monday at 4pm. Everyone needs to be out by then. There are some stragglers whose flights don't leave until Tuesday. They will be staying at the FWG Express Condos near the airport.

Their home sweet homes await them in many countries, and thanks to our expert banking staff on site at band camp, the Russian kids learned the easiest way to wire their hard-earned money home, so that when they got off the plane they would not get robbed, rolled and bullied at the airport.

Dang! Guess they spent it all again, going on their vacations through NYC and Disney World before heading back.

At the airport near where I live, planes come and go all day long and mess up my ATSC and DVB reception, but thay can't dare touch my reception of the Internet stream of Tempo FM in Wetherby!

Shameless plug.

Yup. This post has been brought to you by Tempo FM 107.4, Your Reliable Radio Station.
Load this URL into your Winamp: http://stream.dnsgb.net:8040 and you, too, can experience Easy Listening in its 22050 Hz 64 KB/s MPEG 2.5 layer 3 glory. ;o)

Additional funding provided by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and by YOU: The contributing members of the Tantastic Word Game, who make it possible for me to continue providing my insights and snarky wit which I am sure will continue to haunt me for decades after I post this. Thank you! ;o)

This is KFWG in Portland, your NPR station for the Greater Vancouver area.

The Internet stream of Tempo FM in Wetherby had far fewer listeners on Wednesday than the Dennis Miller radio show's stream, for it was on Wednesday that a popular singer had appeared on the program to promote her new album, "Grace And Gratitude Renewed."

See? I could have easily seized the opportunity to promote my own Internet station. Instead, I turned it into an opportunity that folks like dmargalotti can capitalize on.

And besides, you can always find the information about my radio station in the signature of all of my posts, anyway... :p

Any Olivia Newton-John music lover will want to drop by band camp this weekend as our lovely Olivia has agreed to perform a going away concert for our foreign exchange students.

Friday night, 8pm, FWG Amphitheater, tix are free.

Our foreign exchange students usually come to band camp not knowing more than the basics about Olivia Newton-John, but when their time here is complete, they are Oliviaphiles and Oliviologists.

Oliviaphiles and Oliviologists have on occasion been known to take their studies a little too seriously and when that happens they run the risk of being mistaken for your average run-of-the-mill obsessive fan/stalker.

From Amy Fisher on, the Historical Museum of Scorned Women Through History, the fact that they're more publicized and people remember them better, elicits more "oohs" and "ahs."
