Fantastic word game

Exploring the farthest reaches of rural Clark County on my Mongoose mountain bike is an adventure I have never had thep pleasure of participating in, because even though I had a mountain bike, it was not a Mongoose and I was nowhere near rural Clark County.

kenrayc beat me to it.

The Columbia River's mouth is nowhere near Clark County, actually bordering Pacific County to the south, which is all located about 80 miles west of here.

[size=8pt]Original post and footnotes:

Near rural Clark County is the unincorporated census-designated community of Hockinson, wherein years ago me and my friends used to record background music.

And that's one of my favourite destinations. The place is a dump, lots of the old buildings are getting pretty run down (especially as you move farther away from the main drag) and as a result, it has a certain beauty that seems to be getting increasingly harder to come across these days down in Vancouver. 'Tis where I go when it's a nice Summer day and I need to get out of the city for a few hours.

There's almost no traffic there, either, and seemingly little traffic noise. You can actually hear yourself think up there. It's kind of surreal, and a shock when I finally *do* make it back to the 'Coove and the droning, inescapable sound of internal combustion engines all aroud me. I have to turn my CD player *down* when I'm there, well, I usually end up turning it back *up* coming back!

Look up the lyrics to Three Dog Night's cut "Out In the Country" for more information.

80 miles west of here , you will find The Pacific Coast Mountain Range.

This is from my location in Central CA.

The Pacific Coast Mountain Range is way more than 80 miles away from where I am, but that'll get you close to the Uwharrie Mountains, the only range of mountains contained in a single American state.

Curses! A flurry!

Strikes on my last two posts have been beaten by far faster, far more advanced posters, who are seeming almost bionic.

Bionic Woman made a comeback on TV a couple of years ago, but it wasn't nearly as popular as the original series.

What Jim Rockford Meant to America was his ability to solve crimes and catch the criminals single handed.

Buford Pusser had nothing on Jim Rockford who drove a pretty cool Camaro, lived in a trailer on the beach, and solved crimes for $200 per day plus expenses.

$200 per day plus expenses was what he billed, but he often ended up being stiffed, and one of Rocky's little-known day jobs was to file Jim's quarterlies promptly on time, reflecting the bad debts as they were updated, with the IRS.

The IRS really, really hate it, but quite a few times I have been known to fill out my 1040 in Roman numerals.

[size=8pt]And one time I even sent in my payment of $1 582.70 in dimes, along with a cheque written out on the back of one of my favourite hockey sweaters. Oh yeah, that was a beauty. But that's another story........

Roman numerals were originally used by Hollywood to date stamp their movies because they didn't want the public to know if a film was old or not.

A little correction, WMC. Jim Rockford did not drive a Camaro. He drove a Pontiac Firebird Espirit.

The entire class gasped when Professor MarcB announced they would be taking a field trip to Illusions Dance Club.

Sam also might need to play the rules again for our new friend.

Welcome Stormychuck. But remember the rules. They are readily apparent, unless as we do from time to time someone messes up. :)
