The sheer volume of replies would be wider and deeper if more people would contribute, but some people act as if we've set the bar too high for them.
Laziness and complacency seem to be the norm for our elected officials in Washington.
Our elected officials in Washington don't impress me as much as the members of the FWG.

Damn the Torpedoes was never a sermon by Jeremiah Wright, but it was one of his favorite sayings.
One of his favorite sayings was repeated often on news reports during the campaign season but Mr. Obama seemed to have never heard it before.
A couple of Miss Silkie's treats are usually left on the table when I turn in for the night, but the maintenance people must take them at night, because there's never any here when dmargalotti opens the day's posting.

Yup, just got the memo to-day. The company's shutting down for three and a half weeks this July. Gonna get an air-conditioned room then explore worn-down paths and chug Orangina and blow up stuff at my friend's place on the Reservation. I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully this time around I'll remember to bring the Mongoose. I forgot to bring it on my last big expedition in 2009 (pages 729-744.)
