A brand new, shiny, 1961 Ford Galaxie convertible would make a great getaway car, for someone in 1961 committing crimes, as long as they were prepared and willing to ditch, because it would be quite recognizable, even then.

No biggie on the a vs. i thing. I was kinda hoping that I had been wrong though, because it would have explained why she never replied. Perhaps she did not like my outfits in the pictures? Probably telling her "I used to work in radio" made her tongue-tied too.
 
Then, if you wanted to make a clean getaway, you would have had to have planted a second getaway car so you could escape.
 
Quite recognizable, even then was Clark Kent, mild-mannered reporter for the Daily Planet but for some reason, when he took off his glasses and put on tights and a cape, no one knew it was him.

Welcome to TFWG (or The FWG as some prefer), dakareedog. If you want to get in the game, you've got to take the ending clue from the previous post (which appears in bold type) and use all of it as the opening clue in your post. And remember to bold the opening and ending clues in your post. Our Game Czar, WMC can give you a full briefing on the rules and etiquette of the game. You may want to schedule an appointment with him later today. Since you're brand new, my guess is he wouldn't issue any demerits for your transgression...this time.
 
No one knew it was him by the time we went to the next page, but my guess is that since it used to be a rule, our newest band camper just needs the inserts to the handbook added to bring the binder up to date.
 
Those who don't know better generally figure out that they have made a huge mistake after we post the rules and regulations and provide the update inserts.
 
The update inserts are available for free for all new members however if you lost yours and are in need of a replacement copy, there will be a charge for copying and processing.
 
A charge for copying and processing the rules is ok by me because it's always good to have an extra copy nearby what with getting older and forgetting things.

Game Rules for the Newbies:

-Your beginning clue is the previous contribution's bolded ending clue. You must use ALL of the previous contribution's bolded ending clue, not part of it.
-Please bold your new ending clue.
-If you are unable to use the bold feature, a clue in CAPITAL letters is acceptable.
-In honor of our late friend Anyacat, a contribution in the form if a haiku will be accepted.
-Your entire contribution should be ONE well-written and punctuated, grammatically correct sentence. Again, ONE sentence, not a part of a sentence, not two sentences, but ONE sentence. (Haikus follow their own form). Use of the ellipsis is outlawed. Use of the colon or semi-colon is accepted when necessary but not to create a half mile run-on sentence.
 
Getting older and forgetting things is okay, as long as you don't have that old person smell, but if you do and the cat covers you up and leaves, we can still find you, on accounta we have Phideaux - or Fido, I can't remember - to help us in the search and rescue effort.
 
The search and rescue effort for cool people at Illusions always turns out to be all search and no rescue, because unless it's a kenrayc/dmargalotti mixtown throwdown night, there's nobody cool to find, much less rescue.

Oh yes...welcome dakareedog! We look forward to many more contributions. Everyone needs to contribute their fair share, to borrow a phrase from polyticks.
 
Rescue may or may not be necessary if someone out there is trying to get a hit on you, because how do you rescue someone who's been shot by the mob and is lying dead in the gutter?

A more productive and worthwhile task than marrying Kim Kardashian is not that hard to find, because, well, she's a Kardashian, not a Newton-John or McCormick or one of the other worthwhile pursuit like the sweetie pies we all have.
