Fantastic word game

The Equalizer was some kind of cop show, I think, but right now I'm thinking that Dick Clark is engaged in a good old fashioned game of Pyramid with our good friend Anyacat.

Anyacat loved word games so she's probably 'splaining to Dick how, as good a game as Pyramid was, it could be even better. Maybe using haikus. :D
 
Edward Woodward is perhaps more recognized from exposure on CBS than Dick Clark's 2000 game show, "Winning Lines."
 
Megan McCormick and people worldwide are mourning Dick Clark today as we all wonder who can ring in the New Year quite like he did.
 
The next sixty years will see a lot of changes but I'm really hoping The FWG (or TFWG as some prefer) is still around at that point with a whole new generation of contributors.

I hope they remember us with a fitting tribute as our anniversary rolls around each year.

Good news and bad news from the Computer Centre: good news is we have the tapes from Robin's lab on bigbird now. Bad news is, they don't work. Attempting to boot produces normal-sounding results (activity lights flicker, noise comes from the drive) for the first few second or so, then the whole thing hangs. Stay tuned...
 
The luncheon special to-day is no longer available at our PowerWorld Cafes on the East Coast because it's almost 3pm and the staff is getting ready to serve our famous early bird blue plate special.

The problem with Robin's QIC tapes turned out to be a cable problem--the drive's data interface connector managed to work loose. Now fixed; bigbird seems to work fine under 4.3BSD now. The real acid test will be when Deek tries to run data through to-morrow.
 
Chicken curry with naan is not the most appealing item on the menu, so it isn't prepared in the lounge.
 
It isn't prepared in the lounge to my knowledge, but the chicken-salad pita is a regular lunch menu item there.

[size=8pt]To be fair I'm no fan of curry either, but I do love naan. Maybe almost addicted to the stuff. There's a local Indian restaurant here ("Namaste", located directly behind the central office where my two telephone lines terminate) from which I sometimes order naan en masse, sometimes 15-20 rounds at a time. I do it as a take-away order, and freeze them for later.
 
A regular lunch menu item there is a delicious beef slime sandwich with chips that not too many people take advantage of since the negative publicity started and that's ok because it means there's more for me.
