Fantastic word game

Get on the ball like quad and me because we're getting a little tired of covering for the rest of you slackers.

I'm not saying you're all slackers but the slackers among us know who they are.

Slackers such as I were busy arranging to give a gigolo to a trailer queen as a gift, little matchmaker that I am, as you all know.

As you all know, even though I'm not here contributing during the daytime hours, I'm still hard at work in the corner office keeping all of you employed and in business.

Employed and in business is something many Americans are seeking, in order to restore their sense of self worth and a sense of community.

Self worth and a sense of community are definitely two things you will find here as a member of TFWG (or The FWG or tFWG as a few miscreants prefer).

As a member of TFWG (or The FWG or tFWG as a few miscreants prefer) I'm proud to be the first person to make a contribution this morning as we begin a weekend session of posting.

A weekend session of posting usually has fewer contributions than during the week because most people are away from the game and out and about doing other things.

Out and about doing other things is a good thing to do this weekend, as temps are rising to the low 90s here in Seattle.

-crainbebo

Seattle is crainbebo's port of call and we appreciate it when he takes care of things for us up there.

Of course, Seattle is under the watchful eye of Darth but Darth can't be everywhere at once.

Things for us up there are different from things for us down here, but not so radically different as to be indistinguishable.

[size=8pt]Actually the Seattle satellite is BoKo's turf. My watch is mainly over the main campus down here, and what little there still is at VanPDX.

=================== !!SPECIAL REPORT!! ===================

Dredged up from yesterday's All Access (corrections mine):

In3media, Inc., owners of the online radio trade journal Radio-Info, have agreed to sell the site to Talkers Magazine, the trade publication which also operates TALKERS.COM, owned by Springfield, MA-based Talk Media, Inc.

As All Access reported Wednesday (Net News, 2012 August 01), Phyllis Stark, who had been writing the Stark County newsletter for Radio-Info, told All Access that her last day at the company would be today (2012 August 03). Several other writers are also exiting the company including Sean Ross, Daniel Astanding and Valerie Geller. Dana Hall and Tom Taylor--who didn't mention this sale in this morning's E-mail memo--are reportedly still aboard, for now.

Timeout Chicago's Robert Feder reports, "Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but the new corporate entity, Radio Info, Inc., will begin operating out of Talk Media, Inc. headquarters, as of 2012 August 19. Michael Harrison, who founded Talkers in 1990 and has been its only publisher, will double as publisher of radio-info.com. A joint statement released Thursday said the two publications will maintain 'independent brands, identities and websites'."

So, could this mean the long-dreaded "end" of the Fantastic Word Game (or "The FWG", as I prefer)?

Not so radically different as to be indistinguishable is how these boards will remain (hopefully) following the sale of in3media.

The sale is mentioned in someone's post on the Ask Radio-Info board or maybe it was on the Boston board. It's on one of the boards. Apparently, the message boards will remain as they are and I think it says that the boards are not part of the sale, only the rest of the site, but I could be wrong. It's be a shame if we lose all of this after all these years.

The sale of in3media will help someone financially probably, but the FWG (or TFWG as some prefer) still operates pro bono-voluntarily and on the kindnesses of friends and strangers.

The kindnesses of friends and strangers is how we operate and exist and we certainly hope to continue on with the addition of more members.

Troll gangs are not welcome as they would undoubtedly disrupt our progress but we always welcome visitors and new members to join the fun.

Join the fun as unsuspecting country dance club patrons take on an electrocuting mechanical bull in "Ride The Lightning."

Ride the Lightning down at Illusions while dancing up a storm listening to Dave & Kenny which might become Dave & Miss Silkie if Kenny doesn't start showing up more often.
