An exaggerated misnomer it may very well be however please keep in mind that when referring to "smart phones", the operative word "smart" applies only to the phone and not the user.
The user of radiodiscussions.com, as long as they are affable, talented, and get along with people, is welcomed here at the FWG (or TFWG as some prefer).
Family friendly contributors will hopefully become more numerous because the fine editors here at Radio Discussions posted a thread on the Announcement page about our anniversary and that was a mighty fine thing for them to do.
Technically, it was a link to my thread on this board about our anniversary but you get the picture. We certainly appreciate the gesture.
The largest thread in RadioDiscussions.com (Radio-info) history will only get larger and longer but it would be nice if we had more contributors to help that along more quickly.
In the numeral in Darth's contribution, he has forgotten to place a comma but, in Darth's World (DW as most prefer), that's ok because he also spells 'centre' differently.
He also spells 'centre' differently than most Americans, who would all benefit from participation in the FWG (or TFWG as some of them would find they prefer, given enough time).
A household name like Kleenex or Xerox is our destiny, and by the time we reach 100,000 pages, simply posting on the Intertubes will be referred to as "the FWG (or TFWG as some prefer)"-ing, but I have no idea how linguistically or grammatically they will pronounce that.
They will pronounce that differently depending upon which part of the world they're from.
[size=8pt]The usage of spaces as a thousands seperator is not a mistake and is a very common, internationally-standardised practise, especially in scientific publications or computer networks that have international reach. Trot on down to rooms 550, 553, 554, 558, 562, 564, 570, 571, 573, (gasps for air) 585, 821, 822, 823 or 828 and read a little bit of really any of the various science textbooks they have there (which, of course, all use SI measurements.) You'll see nothing but spaces being used as thousands seperators.
Which part of the world they're from can also determine how they spell their words.
Which means I could assume Darth hails originally from the UK (or Australia possibly) based on how he spells certain words, if I didn't already know he's American!
