Fantastic word game

Contribution #25 000 is mine, along with page #2 501, and it all happened on 12-12-12, yet.

[size=8pt]Wow, I stole two milestones thus far within the same 24-hour period. Not a bad day's work....

But the real magic won't happen for another 99 pages, by my arithmetic.

It all happened on 12-12-12, yet I don't think it could be any more special of a milestone, because everything that happens at the FWG (or TFWG as some prefer) is a milestone compared to the best that happens in the workaday world.

The workaday world is a dull and boring place that most people can't wait to escape from but at PowerWorld Industries, LLC our workdays are some much fun that our employees actually hate weekends.

Party hard but only *after* work hours, and avoid alcohol in the process since it inhibits efficient cognitive functionality and prevents you from effectively accomplishing more important tasks, such as attempting to ponder what caused pages 2500 and 2501 to suddenly disappear, leaving us back on page 2499.

[size=8pt]It's like, one moment they's there, an' the nex' minute they's gone...

It's probably the manifestation of effects of the supermassive temporospatial fluctuation (the so-called "rift in the time-space continuum" amongst laymen) that was supposed to happen as a result of today's parallel date. Yeah, that must be it.

Ponder what caused pages 2500 and 2501 to suddenly disappear, leaving us back on page 2499 if you must, but we know that it was erasure after putting out there that for awhile there would be sneaked out greeting cards.

And so beautifully hand-written too. We all sighed and cooed, Ahhhhhhh! Ooooooohhhh! ::)

Yet this year has been a very bad year for NY and NJ residents, as a relief concert rolls on for Hurricane Sandy victims.

Congrats Darthvader for post 25,000! I can't believe it! When will we hit 10,000 pages...

-crainbebo

Hurricane Sandy victims are benefitting from tonight's concert so I'm guessing we might see Mr. and Mrs. dmargalotti in the audience.

Yo, crainbebo, it's be nice of you to stop by more often than once per quarter. You are welcome to celebrate 25,000 posts with us but don't get carried away, you ain't been around for too many of them lately. :p

In the audience at the Astoria satellite campus today was myself as the Clackamas telecommunications lab guys finally removed the decrepit mid-'60s Stromberg Carlson XY private branch exchange equipment and replaced it with a modern 5ESS-based system like we have at the main campus, since the old system really gave new meaning to the word "primitive".

[size=8pt]Generally speaking, XYs are about the most featureless and least versatile of telephone switches; feature-wise (and design-wise) they're like the Macintosh of electromechanical exchanges and they sucked about as much. It's hard to imagine what entire town COs used to see in them. The old system was a DTO (dial-tone only) switch which only could dial direct to other phones on the same system--anything outgoing had to go through an operator on an old 1950s-era cordboard. That was literally *all* it could do; no integral voice mail, nothing.

We refitted the operator's switchboard panel with the new electro-digital console. It's a beautiful mahogany unit and it'd been a shame to just throw out such nice vintage woodwork.

The old system really gives new meaning to the word "Primitive" as I used to use the audio portion of the VCR to record Classic Casey Kasem's AT 40 of the 80s off the internet.

Now I use the audio portion of a DVD recorder to do that and last week it was from Dec 12 1981, and the number one song was by the great Olivia Newton-John "Physical".

I don't usually don't save them, I use DVD-RW's, I just don't listen to it at the time it's on.

In a bygone period, there was nothing like the FWG (or TFWG as some prefer), and I think we are all better off in our current period, which also includes the lovely and talented Olivia Newton-John and Megan McCormick.

The lovely and talented Olivia Newton-John and Megan McCormick were probably enjoying last night's 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy relief concert along with the rest of us but contrary to popular rumors, the Mrs. and I were not in attendance.

The Mrs. and I were not in attendance because we weren't affected by the hurricane and also because I don't have a Mrs.

Mrs. Quadraphonic might be thrilled to present a Sansui QRX-9001 to Mr. Quadraphonic as, what may be considered, the best Christmas present ever!

It's my all-time favorite receiver, one I'm likely to never sell, trade or even rent! :D 8)

Mrs. Quadraphonic has been known to lend a hand on the rare occasion when there is a backlog of TPS reports.

Oh thanks a lot, scanman. I'm SURE you couldn't see me typing my reply when you jumped the line ahead of me, right? RIGHT???

The best Christmas present ever would be a romantic evening with Megan McCormick while Olivia Newton-John sings for us in person but somehow I don't think that's what I'm going to find under the tree.

Under the tree are presents which evoke amazing curiosity, along with domestic creatures competing for free space on what is obviously mistaken for a poodle skirt.

What is obviously mistaken for a poodle skirt is Sweetie Pie's favorite shirt which he left lying around on the floor even though Miss Silkie told him multiple times to pick it up and put it away.
