Fantastic word game

Getting more information about this other thread makes me nervous because I thought we were the greatest and longest thing out there but apparently we are not.

Ok, so it started 6 months earlier. But has it been continuous for that length of time or did it have serious lapses in participation? Any idea how many pages in that thread?? I mean, really, could it really be more than the 2500+ pages that is us? ???

Commenting on Megan McCormick or Olivia Newton-John today, as we should do every day, takes a backseat when the newbies take over the joint which happens when most of the regulars are nowhere to be seen.

*cough*quad*cough*dmargalotti*coughcough*

Most of the regulars are nowhere to be seen some days, but most days they are at their posts, ready with the rapier-sharp wit they have honed through the many pages of the FWG (or TFWG as some prefer).

I been at work and stuff today. I will make up for it with some PowerWorld third-shifting. All the newbies are invited to visit in the foundry!

This has never happened before now:
I posted this and it said "While you were typing, 25 new replies have been posted. You may wish to review your post."
But there aren't any new posts since WMC @11:50.
Thought we had a horde of very active newbies for a second there... :p

Six years ago, scanman, we actually started on what I think was the original Radio-Info.com which then morphed into the most recent Radio-Info.com and we are now on RadioDiscussions.com.

quad, I've been seeing that "25 new replies" thing for a good week or so now.

RadioDiscussions.com seems to be having server sync issues as of late, which will cause some threads and some posts within threads to vanish in a puff of smoke then magically return after a bit of time.

Vanish in a puff of smoke then magically return after a bit of time describes either Puff The Magic Dragon (PTMD as most prefer) or most of our regulars during this pre-New Year's holiday weekend or both.

Both of the Holiday weeks are great due to the fact they are short work weeks.

I've actually been a member of the site since 2007 (after the second incarnation of Radio-info.com) and a lurker longer than that (since the original Radio-info.com), but rarely ventured into the "Off The Air" section until recently.

So have I. I'm getting used to it since the problem doesn't appear to be going away soon.

Weeks with holidays are fun, but then we have to work lots of five-day weeks to earn back all the money we spent celebrating the holidays.

Mister WMC, the guy who started the "Song Title" game is a Red Sox fan. I think that's the team that went 457 years in between championships. Anyway, the idea was that we'd carry on a conversation using only song titles. That concept worked well on the Whose Line Is It Anyway tv show but it didn't work at all when we common schmucks tried to do it online. There is no conversation, just an ongoing list of song titles. That thread has 13,174 replies right now, many thousands less than the FWG has. I'd post the link but I'm not sure that the board editors here would allow it. I can give you a big hint: It's in the "Off-Topic Discussion" section of a satellite radio fan site. Gadzooks, I can be wordy sometimes!

The holidays get another mention in clue endings and beginnings, I see, but hey, we have another one coming up the day after tomorrow.

My dear WMC, no need to put out an Amber Alert just yet. I've been busy in the library, and of course serving up those scrumptious goodies everyone has been chowing down on. Comparing voice mail from The Grand to the other side of the speakers in smallsville, listening to e-mail.

Coming up the day after tomorrow, we'll all be ready to start another 365 days of another year.

LA, no need to address me as "Mister WMC". WMC is perfectly fine. I may be the Game Czar but I relate perfectly well to all you common folk. :D

And, if you could, send a private message to me through the site here with the name of that site, I'd like to take a look at that thread. And, being from Massachusetts, I am also a big Red Sox fan but it was *only* 86 years between championships for them, not quite 457.

Miss Silkie, very glad to see you. I get worried when you disappear like that. As you know, sometimes when our friends disappear, they never come back (although, as we saw a week or two ago, raptus is still with us). ;)

Scanman, I was on the original Radio-Info as WMC2005. When the big change happened, I became WMC2006 on April 24, 2006. I had to check my profile to come up with that date. ;D

Another 365 days of another year will mean 365 more opportunities to turn over a new leaf, although that sounds more like something that would be done by a caterpillar.

I address almost everybody as Mister---that's one of my many cute lil' journalistic trademarks. I do, however, make exceptions for anyone who asks me to not do it (such as WMC) or for anyone who I think is female. I can't always be sure. Sometimes I'll address somebody as---and this is a made-up example---"Mister ToughGuyBikerDude" and then get a nasty reply from ToughGuyBikerDude saying "I'm a woman!" Go figure!

A caterpillar blossoms into a beautiful butterfly just as The Fantastic Word Game (TFWG as most prefer and the FWG as some prefer) has blossomed into a beautiful game of love and wordplay.

Well, ok then, if it makes you more comfy addressing me as Mister, so be it. Just be sure to address Silkie as Miss because she is definitely a chick. For the longest time after she first joined us, we all thought she was a guy. I'm not sure she ever got over that and that was 4 years or more ago. ;D

A beautiful game of love and wordplay can be beaten any day by a stimulating game of foreplay.

Yes I realize I'm probably crossing the line of good taste here, but I promise to keep it at a minimum.

Trouble could be in the works for us and our future if Robert and LA take that subject matter any further which of course they won't because they know better.
