Fantastic word game

Keyboards are awash in activity up on the Boston boards, but if it's the usual "it'll never work" thread about a new radio station, I will only posit that that's what they said about the FWG back in aught-6.

Olivia Newton-John and/or Megan McCormick make me hungry because Olivia's last name reminds me of Fig Newtons and Megan's last name reminds me of McCormcik spices, so now I have to go see what's in the refrigerator.

What's in the refrigerator is all kinds of tasty tidbits from Miss Silkie's shop where I see the lights are on late so she and Sweetie Pie must be cooking up a storm.

I'm talking about food. :p ;)

She and Sweetie Pie must be cooking up a storm because the kitchen is filling up with thunderclouds.....although, now that I look more closely, I think it's actually smoke. :D

Members of the FWG (or TFWG as some prefer) have brought Robert's contribution into The Sentence Structure Lab (TSSL as most prefer) to look for a subject and verb.

We even have Darth's boys all over it but it ain't looking good even though quad didn't question it before following up.

A subject and verb for a song title?

Take off your shoes, Robert Bass, and kick back and relax and revisit the posted rules from a few weeks back when you came onboard and I mentioned that your contribution should be in the form of a sentence.

Yes, that includes song titles. If there already is a subject and verb in the song title and it already creates a sentence, great. If not, then mix the song title into an actual sentence, preferably a well-crafted sentence and, of course, one sentence and one sentence only.

And, by the way, "A subject and verb for a song title?" is also not a sentence and I would like to ask Mr. DTTJ and Mr. dmargalotti why they didn't question that. Methinks we need an emergency executive board meeting later this morning. dm, quad, Silkie, Darth, please be in my office at 1pm. Happy Friday. ;D

Your contribution should be in the form of a sentence is one of the few rules all posters here are required to follow especially during the 90-day probationary period for all newbies.

WMC, if you review the latest series of contributions to The FWG (or TFWG as some prefer) you will clearly see that you had already questioned Robert's contribution before I had a chance to reply and respond. Therefore I must question why you would question me as to why I did not address the situation at hand.

Newbies can't do everything they want to do, but since I can't be there at 1pm, I have to premind the board that subjects and verbs can often be implied in a complete sentence.

But me, I'm not a stickler. As long as I can infer an implication, and it doesn't become a crutch for any posters to abuse, I'm good with colloquialisms like dat.

Their ever-loving minds might have been preoccupied with others things but from what I saw you post yesterday, I can pretty much guess that they weren't thinking about driving, topless or otherwise.
