Fantastic word game

Never wander in your pajamas, or less, because you might be ridiculed and called a bum, or have people pointing and laughing and asking "who is that nut?".

"Boulevard of Broken Dreams" is a song you probably know from the band Green Day but there is also a song by that name written back in the 30's that's been recorded many times over the years including a very successful version by Tony Bennett.

Tony Bennett left his heart in San Francisco and, more recently, has been trying to extend his career but, to me, he sounds pretty ancient.

He sounds pretty ancient which is understandable considering he is 86 years old and I sure do hope that I will be getting around as well as he does when I'm that age.

He sounds pretty ancient to WMC, but WMC's ears are used to only the most current musical stylings.

Dmarrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggg!

When I'm that age, I hope to sound any way I can sound.

Post early, post often, and definitely act shocked and surprised when people who live in the limited world of the virtual, disguise and use your posts to try to make a living.

Oh, and long live Tony Bennett.

Try to make a living by getting a gig as Game Czar for a famous, long running Internet thread and chances are you will still need to supplement your income with a part time job.

A part time job close to the Game Czar's office this weekend might include some serious snow shoveling.

Serious snow shoveling is likely to occur here in NJ as well and I can honestly say I am NOT looking forward to it.

I'm also not looking forward to the mad rush at the grocery stores as people buy up all the milk, bread, and eggs on the shelves. Geez it's not like you're going to be trapped in your house for a week and why do these people crave french toast during a snow storm anyway?

It is a curious thing how some buy up all the milk, bread and eggs, while others make sure there is plenty of beer in the house.

It's really not so bad, so long as you can have a cup of coffee, start the car and let it warm up while you sweep the car and visit with neighbors who are all doing the same. Digging out behind the snow plow after you already dug out is the bigger pain in the arse.

The house on the Brady Bunch had one bedroom for the boys and another bedroom for the girls but as Greg and Marcia got older they wanted their own space so Greg turned his dads' office into a groovy bachelor pad for a while before he and Marcia fought over who would get to have a their own bedroom in the attic.

The attic of an old house was my first apartment, which rented for a whopping $30 a week.

When the people on the first floor used a key they had made to steal my sodas my best girlfriend came over and we moved me out. Over the balcony it all went and on the roof and itty bitty trunk of an MG Midget, so that it looked like a clutter of furniture driving down the street. Couldn't do it again on a bet.

A week without The FWG (or TFWG as some prefer) is something I'm not sure I could survive.

Silkie, I can picture your friends's MG Midget driving down the street overflowing with furniture. I remember the days when I could bug out faster than a M.A.S.H until and all my worldly possessions would fit in the back of my 1980 Toyota Celica hatchback.

"Survive" is an unverbalized but innate thought inside every one of us who have no desire to die prematurely, and it is that instinct that precludes us from doing risky things such as driving on the wrong side of the freeway, honking the car horn when driving behind a motorcycle gang, cleaning fingernails with a machete, and failing to put the last words of our posts in boldface.

I thought about not putting those words in boldface---that would have been funny, but, by violating the FWG rules, I would risk incurring the wrath of several people here and I try to never be a wrath-incurrer.

Failing to put the last words of our posts in boldface is something we've all done, including myself, multiple times and it's a horrible and shameful thing to endure.

Looks like we are staring at a good 1 to 2 feet of snow starting Friday morning and right into Saturday. And today marks the 35th anniversary of the Blizzard of '78 here in Massachusetts and southern New England. I'm not looking forward to 'retailing' during all the stupidity that will go on tomorrow as people act like it will be the end of the world and I won't be able to get anything done. I think I'll be staying home Friday rather than risking it on the roads. That leaves more time for TFWG. ;D

It's a horrible and shameful thing to endure being an adult and walking around in nothing but a diaper in public; but, if the stakes are high enough, it can become a worthwhile endeavor.
